CMF Quick Installer Tool 2.0.1

CMF Quick Installer Tool 2.0.1

CMF Quick Installer Tool provides a a facility for comfortable activation/deactivation of CMF compliant products inside a CMF. more>>
CMF Quick Installer Tool provides a a facility for comfortable activation/deactivation of CMF compliant products inside a CMF.
Therefore it has to be installed as a tool inside a CMF portal, where it stores the information about the installed products.
The requirements for a product to be installable with QuickInstallerTool are quite simple (almost all existing CMF products fulfill them):
.External Product: The product has to implement an external method install in a python module Install.py in its Extensions directory.
.TTW Product: The product has to have a Install folder and have a python script titled install inside that folder.
Products can be uninstalled and QuickInstellerTool removes the following items a product creates during install:
.portal types
.portal skins
.portal actions
.portalobjects (objects created in the root of the portal)
.workflows
.left and right slots (also checks them only for the portal)
Attention: QuickInstallerTool just tracks which objects are ADDED, but not what is changed or deleted.
second Attention: QuickInstallerTool just can uninstall products that are installed via QuickInstallerTool
Enhancements:
- Adjusted installProduct method to be compatible with CMF 2.1
- Refactored ResourceRegistries support not to require the product itself to be installed in QI.
- Added the INonInstallable interface that is used to look up utilities.
- Added an option to omit snapshot creation which defaults to True to speed up.
- We automatically create a GenericSetup snapshot before and after installation.

AI::DecisionTree 0.08

AI::DecisionTree 0.08

AI::DecisionTree is Perl module for automatically Learns Decision Trees. more>>
AI::DecisionTree is Perl module for automatically Learns Decision Trees.

SYNOPSIS

use AI::DecisionTree;
my $dtree = new AI::DecisionTree;

# A set of training data for deciding whether to play tennis
$dtree->add_instance
(attributes => {outlook => sunny,
temperature => hot,
humidity => high},
result => no);

$dtree->add_instance
(attributes => {outlook => overcast,
temperature => hot,
humidity => normal},
result => yes);

... repeat for several more instances, then:
$dtree->train;

# Find results for unseen instances
my $result = $dtree->get_result
(attributes => {outlook => sunny,
temperature => hot,
humidity => normal});

The AI::DecisionTree module automatically creates so-called "decision trees" to explain a set of training data. A decision tree is a kind of categorizer that use a flowchart-like process for categorizing new instances. For instance, a learned decision tree might look like the following, which classifies for the concept "play tennis":

OUTLOOK
/ |
/ |
/ |
sunny/ overcast rainy
/ |
HUMIDITY | WIND
/ *no* /
/ /
high/ normal /
/ strong/ weak
*no* *yes* /
*no* *yes*

(This example, and the inspiration for the AI::DecisionTree module, come directly from Tom Mitchells excellent book "Machine Learning", available from McGraw Hill.)

A decision tree like this one can be learned from training data, and then applied to previously unseen data to obtain results that are consistent with the training data.

The usual goal of a decision tree is to somehow encapsulate the training data in the smallest possible tree. This is motivated by an "Occams Razor" philosophy, in which the simplest possible explanation for a set of phenomena should be preferred over other explanations. Also, small trees will make decisions faster than large trees, and they are much easier for a human to look at and understand. One of the biggest reasons for using a decision tree instead of many other machine learning techniques is that a decision tree is a much more scrutable decision maker than, say, a neural network.

The current implementation of this module uses an extremely simple method for creating the decision tree based on the training instances. It uses an Information Gain metric (based on expected reduction in entropy) to select the "most informative" attribute at each node in the tree. This is essentially the ID3 algorithm, developed by J. R. Quinlan in 1986. The idea is that the attribute with the highest Information Gain will (probably) be the best attribute to split the tree on at each point if were interested in making small trees.

Stratos PHP Framework 1.0 RC1

Stratos PHP Framework 1.0 RC1

Stratos PHP Framework is an open-source, object-oriented web application framework. more>>
Stratos PHP Framework is an open-source, object-oriented web application framework that facilitates the rapid development of well-organized, secure, and maintainable PHP web applications. Stratos PHP Framework frees you from working on tedious, routine tasks, and allows you to focus on specific software requirements.
Main features:
Minimal Configuration
- The Stratos Framework is completely configurable from the web using the Developers Toolkit. This means you can spend less time getting set up and more time developing your applications.
- Object-Relational Mapping
- Using the StratosData plugin, you can easily map SQL tables to data objects. StratosData allows you to access Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, SQLite, and other databases without writing any SQL statements!
Scaffolding
- Stratos can automatically generate CRUD (Create, Retrieve, Update, Delete) interfaces for your tables. This means you can kick-start your application by generating default actions and views for manipulating your data. The generated actions and views can then be modified to meet your specific needs.
Define Views in PHP
- Stratos does not require you to learn a separate templating language in order to define your views. All views are created using PHP by default, so there is no need to learn a separate syntax and introduce additional overhead for the sole purpose of creating a view.
Compatibility
- Stratos is compatible with both PHP4 and PHP5. This means that your applications will run on the majority of web hosts. Stratos has been thoroughly tested on a variety of operating systems and databases.
Performance
- Stratos was designed from the ground up to be fast. The framework has built-in caching capabilities that you can easily utilize from within your applications. When using the StratosData plugin, you can speed up your applications even further by caching database information to disk.
Ease of use
- Unlike many frameworks, Stratos does not have a steep learning curve. Its easy to get started developing web applications using Stratos. Simply download the latest release, install Stratos on your server, and create an application!
Enhancements:
- This release includes major updates and a handful of new features, bugfixes, and performance enhancements.
- Enhancements include an improved approach to creating action controllers, simplified data objects, data object event functions, automatic data object validation, complete removal of the XML config files, improvements to the plugin architecture, and a new look-and-feel for the Stratos control panel.
- Stratos 1.0rc1 is not backwards compatible with 0.93.
- This release begins the 1.0 branch, and all future development on the 1.0 branch will be backwards compatible with this release.
