Authfail 1.1.6
authfail is a tool for adding IP addresses to an ACL. more>>
Authfail is a program that goes with real time updating on FIFO file and adds IP into netfilter with DROP/REJECT policy in real time. The FIFO file is /dev/authfail. The rejected hosts database is located in /var/log/authfail.
Each time a given host will do an "authentication failure" via syslog, authfail will count it. If this occure more than the parameters given to authfail, the given host will be REJECTED/DROPPED via Netfilter. Whois notification is possible.
authfail may be configured using the /etc/authfail.conf file.
The program is written under the GNU GPL Public License.
Enhancements:
- The Setup.pl file was modified to not notify private RFC 1918 networks during the setup process.

JobPal 1.1.6
JobPal is a tool that can be used as an aid in online job searching. more>>
JobPal is a tool that can be used as an aid in online job searching.
In todays job market, most positions are found on internet job boards, and resumes and cover letters are submitted via email. Most of the work involves customization of cover letters for each unique position, and repetitively adding attachments to email messages.
This process can be time consuming, and as anyone who has been involved in a job search knows, employers receive hundreds of applicants for each position they post. This means that the faster you get your resume and cover letter to the employer, the more likely that your resume will be viewed.
JobPal automatically customizes each message using a template that you create:
With JobPal you can automatically customize information such as the company name you are sending your resume to, the exact title of the position you are applying to, and the website that you found the job posting on. This is all made possible through the use of template tags. You make the template using a text editor, and JobPal does the rest of the work for you. The message that appears in the preview window will be the message written in the body of the email.
JobPal lets you add up to five templates to choose from:
If you are applying to different types of positions, you have probably realized that you should have a specialized cover letter which advertises particular skills and experience for the targeted position. JobPal lets you easily switch between cover letter templates. Simply select the template you want to send and press the "Send Emial" button. It is that easy!
JobPal only requires you to add attachments once, and they are saved until you change them:
With a regular email client, you have to take the time to add attachments every time you send a message. This is one of the most time consuming parts of sending resumes to employers. JobPal only requires that you add attachments once. Each time you send an email, your attachments will automatically be included, saving you extra time and effort.
JobPal keeps track of all positions you have sent messages to:
When an employer calls you regarding a resume, it is important to know the title of the position you applied for, and the date the resume was sent. Many job hunters do this manually, by writing down information about positions as they apply for them. JobPal can do all of this work for you.
JobPals security feature prevents you from sending a message to the same employer twice:
JobPal has a security feature that will warn you if you have sent a message to the same email address in the past. This feature can be turned off if the user desires.

FreeRADIUS 1.1.6
FreeRADIUS is a feature-rich, high-performance RADIUS server. more>>
FreeRADIUS is the premiere open source RADIUS server. While detailed statistics are not available, we believe that FreeRADIUS is well within the top 5 RADIUS servers world-wide, in terms of the number of people who use it daily for authentication.
FreeRADIUS project scales from embedded systems with small amounts of memory, to systems with millions of users. It is fast, flexible, configurable, and supports more authentication protocols than many commercial servers.
The FreeRADIUS Server Project encompasses more than just a RADIUS server. The related software includes a PAM authentication module, and an Apache 1.3 and 2.0 authentication module. The server comes with a PHP-based web user administration tool, called dialupadmin.
The RADIUS server has more features and is more flexible than any other free software RADIUS server, and many commercial servers. Most commercial servers are distributed as a "base" system ($), and an "enhanced" version ($$) with more features. FreeRADIUS has all the features of a commercial "enhanced" server, without the associated cost.
In it simplest form, the server is similar to Livingstons 2.0 server. Many configuration files are similar, and the general operation of the server should be familiar to anyone who has used a variant of the Livingston server.
FreeRADIUS can be extended significantly from this simple form, however. There are many modules and configuration files which have no equivalent in older RADIUS servers. These new features permit FreeRADIUS to work within complex systems, and environments which require high performance.
To support the demanding requirements of a modern RADIUS server, FreeRADIUS features more than 50 vendor-specific dictionary files. It ships with support for LDAP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle databases. It supports EAP, with EAP-MD5, EAP-SIM, EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, EAP-PEAP, and Cisco LEAP sub-types.
It supports proxying, with fail-over and load balancing. It has reached a stable 1.0 release, with incremental improvements being added and tested daily. In short, it is a powerful, fast, and complex RADIUS server which is compatible with the latest network protocols and practices, and is well suited for deployment in any size network.
Enhancements:
- A few dictionaries have been added.
- Several bugs have been fixed, including some double frees that were found in 1.1.5.
- Nearly 30 bugs found by Coverity were also fixed, including a memory leak in the EAP-TTLS code.

Ajaqs 1.1.6.2
Ajaqs is a Web app that organizes FAQs on a per-project basis. more>>
Ajaqs is a Web app that organizes FAQs on a per-project basis. Ajaqs projects is designed to be deployed under popular Web and application servers.
It aims to serve two purposes: to provide engineering groups a mechanism for consolidating and preserving in-house knowledge in connection to product development and usage, and to provide small companies with a Web interface for exposing searchable, internationalizable information related to products and services.
Main features:
- Serves up XHTML 1.0 (Transitional).
- Internationalizable front-end.
- Text-only front-end.
- Templatized front-end.
- Customizable styles using stylesheets.
- Back-end independent of database-vendor.
- Pooling of database connections for reuse.
- Can attach text or image to answers.
- Can associate several FAQs with a single project.
- Searchable FAQs.
- Role-based security access.
- Administrative front-end for editing or deleting users, projects, FAQs, questions, answers, and attachments.
Here are some key advantages of using Ajaqs:
- Flexibility. The end-user should be able to use any major commercial (or open-source) database on the market. Moreover, the end-user should be able to customize the look-and-feel of the front-end; this includes the ability to internationalize the application.
- Maintenance. Both external documentation (like this) and inline javadocs should explain how things work. Ive tried to write clean Java code so that developers who build on Ajaqs will have a clear, easily extensible starting point.
- Ease of Use. Installation is simple; you just have to create a .war file and drop it in the right directory/folder. The Ajaqs interface is text-based, and intended to provide easy access to search operations.
- Security. File system security issues are completely off-loaded to the Java security model (i.e., the Java sandbox) and whatever access-policy may be in place for the database. Ajaqs-specific security in connection with particular web content is off-loaded to the security model for the application server under use. Ajaqs-specific security that deals with end-users is role-based, and leverages Castors JDO mapping model to restrict, automatically, what data from the back-end some end-user can access.
Here are some disadvantages of using Ajaqs:
- Castor. Although this is a big design advantage, in practice it poses occasional problems, partly because of sketchy documentation.
- Non-trivial design. Ajaqs may be powerful, but it comes at a great price. As the list of technologies above indicates, it takes a well-versed Java developer to understand all the issues involved in making Ajaqs work properly.
Enhancements:
- The Ant build process now utilizes Jasper to pre-compile JSPs into the war file.

Dynagraph 1.1.6.1
Dynagraph is a cross-platform library and command-line tool for dynamically drawing graphs. more>>
Dynagraph libraries are written in platform-neutral C++. As such, Dynagraph itself does not render to the screen, bitmaps, etc. Instead, the Dynagraph executable can be piped to a front end using the custom incrface language, or the library can be used directly in C++ programs, or in Windows programs via COM wrapper classes.
Gordon Woodhull maintains and improves Dynagraph continually. It is based on the brilliant work of the Graphviz team at AT&T Research, particularly Stephen North and Emden R. Gansner.
While Gordon consulted for AT&T Research from 1997 to 2003, he designed a new architecture and ported the DynaDAG and FDP engines from C to C++. Since his departure from AT&T, he has continued to rearchitect Dynagraph and add powerful new features.
Dynagraph is licensed under the Common Public License.
Whats New in 1.1.5.9 Stable Release:
- This improves the build system for *nix, esp using automatically generated dependencies.
- Requires gnu make.
Whats New in 1.1.6.1 Development Release:
- Contains a fix for the nodecross bug.
- Also parallel edges appear to be working.
