Atop 1.21

Atop 1.21

Atop is an interactive monitor for Linux-systems to view the load on system-level and process-level. more>>
Atop project is an ASCII full-screen performance monitor, similar to the top command.
At regular intervals, it shows system-level activity related to the CPU, memory, swap, disks and network layers, and it shows for every active process the CPU utilization in system and user mode, the virtual and resident memory growth, priority, username, state, and exit code.
The process level activity is also shown for processes which finished during the last interval, to get a complete overview about the consumers of things such as CPU time.
Atop only shows the active system-resources and processes, and only shows the deviations since the previous interval.
Enhancements:
- A new command, atopsar, has been added to generate detailed system activity reports (similar to the UNIX command sar) using the compressed logfiles as written by atop.
- These reports can also be generated for the current situation by specifying an interval for atopsar on the command line.

TwoFTPd 1.21

TwoFTPd 1.21

TwoFTPd provides a simple, secure, efficient FTP server. more>>
TwoFTPd provides a simple, secure, efficient FTP server.
Twoftpd is an FTP server that strives to be secure, simple, and efficient.
None of the commands can cause execution of other programs, and the normal model of execution does a chroot to the logged in users directory immediately after authentication.
The name "twoftpd" comes from the fact that there are two parts to the server: an authenticating front end, which contains no file or data transfer code, and one of two back ends, which contain all the data transfer code.
Enhancements:
- Added a fake listing routine to twoftpd-drop, to avoid errors on GUI clients that require LIST or NLST.
- Fixed a compile failure on FreeBSD in the newer MDTM command. Thanks Sergei Kolobov.

WMAcpi 1.21

WMAcpi 1.21

WMAcpi is port of WMApm 1.1 with ACPI support. more>>
WMAcpi is port of WMApm 1.1 with ACPI support.

Implementation of "ACPI" mode:

As far as I know, there arent any tools available right now to process battery statistics provided in /proc/power by ACPI stuff in 2.4.x kernels. So, I updated wmapm 1.1 to handle ACPI also. There are no changes between 1.1 and 1.2 other than ACPI stuff. If you are NOT interested in ACPI, this version is NOT for you. However, if you ARE interested in ACPI, please test this and
let me know if it works for you. This code makes a couple assumptions, they
are as follows:

* You only have one battery, and its a "Control Method" battery
* Your ACPI bios is more or less "not fucked up" (i.e. it works with 2.4.2)
* VERY IMPORTANT: You are running kernel 2.4.2. This has been tested under 2.4.2 kernel ONLY, and is not guaranteed to work with anything else. You have been warned.

To use ACPI support, just follow "INSTALL" instructions. Makefile has been updated to include -DACPI. If you dont have ACPI, you dont need this version of wmapm. Information after "INSTALL" section only applies to APM systems, without ACPI support.

Installation:

* make
* copy wmapm somewhere useful
* dance
* < somewhere useful >/wmapm &
* phear
(if it doesnt work, skip the phear step)

Note, this (for now) only supports laptops with one system battery. I am working with kernel acpi people to standartize power reporting interface, and when its usable, WMApm will be updated to support any number of batteries, and provide full information about ACPI power sources.

belt 1.21

belt 1.21

belt is a foldable menubar. more>>
belt is a Perl/Tk application which offers a foldable menubar that works somewhat like the "belt" found on the Mac.

It reads a simple configuration files, uses XPMs for the buttons, and has a lot of options.

While not as advanced as the similar applications found in GNOME or KDE, it is rather lightweight and intended primarily for use with windowmanagers that dont have easy dynamic configuration options, like wm2 for example.

PPSee 1.21

PPSee 1.21

PPSee is an album creator and image viewer. more>>
PPSee is a software for creating picture galleries of photos taken by the digital camera, scanner etc. It also makes possible to view pictures.
The created photo album can be used on your computer, however it is designed mainly for display on the Internet. Instead of photos attached to e-mails, youd better send a link to your own web pages!
Main features:
- the program uses national languages.
- the photo album provides automatic picture projection - slide show
- to move among the pictures in the photo album you can use navigation keys.
- each of the pictures can contain your description, which is saved for later use.
- you can rotate images without any modification of the original file
- photo album is based on a valid code XHTML 1.0 Strict
- the photo album does not need support from any server.
- the program has many attributes affecting the look of the created photo album.
- support of the scripting language BeanShell for greater latitude when creating the photo album.
- you can create their own templates of the photo album.
- registered users can use a batch mode from a command line
- the program can read EXIF information.
- the program runs on the systems such as Windows, Linux, MacOS, OS/2 and Solaris, as well as the photo album.
- registered users can also use new versions of the program.
- the author does not insert into program any form of malware, including: spyware, trojans and backdoors
The program PPSee enables to change the photo album by the help of a number of parameters, however a certain style of the photo album always remains preserved. If you have your own conceptions of the look of the photo album, lay-out of the pictures, navigational buttons, picture description and so on, you can create a template.
The template of the program PPSee is a model, based on which the program creates the real photo album. It is useful to know that templates - or more exactly their program accessories - enable to respect the parameters set in the user graphic environment of the program PPSee. To communicate with the program, templates use the program interface API.
Templates can be saved - together with other parameters - for later use; users can share the saved templates with no limits. Only registered users can work with templates. Detailed information makes part of the program documentation.
Enhancements:
- Photo album is created by a standard XHTML 1.0 Strict.
- You can rotate images without any modification of the original file.
- Bug fixing

Time::Beat 1.21

Time::Beat 1.21

Time::Beat is a Perl module to convert between standard time and Swatch .beat time. more>>
Time::Beat is a Perl module to convert between standard time and Swatch ".beat" time.

Time::Beat is a module to convert normal time to and from .beats, of which there are a thousand in a day. It can change normal time in time() format to .beats, and .beats into either 24-hour or 12-hour normal time.

SYNOPSIS

use Time::Beat qw(beat time24 time12);

my $time_in_beats = beats($time);

my $beats_in_24hr_time = time24($beat);

my $beats_in_12hr_time = time12($beat);

METHODS

There are three methods in Time::Beat.

beats($time)

beats will give you the current time in .beats if you do not specify a time string. If you specify a string in time() format it will return that particular time in .beats. The basic algorithm for doing this is to take the time in GMT+1 hour, convert it into seconds, and divide by 86.4.

time24($beat)

time24 takes a 3-digit beat time and outputs a 24-hour time along the lines of "12:34:56". The hours will have leading noughts.

time12($beat)

time12 takes a 3-digit beat time and outputs a 12-hour time along the lines of "12:34:56 am" or "12:34:56 pm". Hours do not have leading noughts.

FIAIF 1.21.0

FIAIF 1.21.0

FIAIF is an Intelligent Firewall. more>>
FIAIF is an Intelligent Firewall.
Unlike many other scripts, FIAIF can be truly customized allowing multiple interfaces (or rather zones). There is no limit on the number of zones. All configuration is done through configuration files. There is no need to understand the script behind it all.
The script makes heavy use of state-full firewalling, and all RELATED and ESTABLISHED packets are accepted on all chains. If you wish to block something out, dont accept it in the first place.
The script is written in BASH. Though this is not the optimal programming language to use, it means that you do not need to install extra interpreters on your firewall. This allows you to have a minimalistic installation on your firewall.
Main features:
- TOS bit can be set per protocol/port basis. (To be used by traffic shaping).
- Limit syslog logging.
- Specification of multiple zones - One or more per interface.
- Load specific connection tracking modules (FTP, IRC etc.).
- Examination of /proc/sys/net setting, for possibly dangerous system configurations.
- Setup of linux runtime parameters.
- Run userdefined commands before and after applying the firewall.
- Syslog scanning, giving more human readable output based on setup.
Zones support:
- Handling of dynamic IPs (DHCP).
- Interfaces with multiple IP addresses.
- Allow/drop and/or reject packets hitting the firewall from the zone.
- Restrict the type of packets originating from the firewall itself.
- Restrict packets coming from other zones.
- Ban IPs within the zone.
- Ban MAC addresses within the zone.
- Watch traffic from a specific IP.
- Limit number of specific packets, e.g. to avoid DoS attack.
- Port forwarding, changing the destination IP and port, allowing e.g. a transparent proxy.
- Masquerading/SNAT.
- Traffic Shaping per interface.
- Ulogd logging support.
- Packet marking, for e.g. advanced routing.
- Definition of IP aliases, to ease maintenance and improve readability of configuration files.

Chart::PNGgraph 1.21

Chart::PNGgraph 1.21

Chart::PNGgraph is a graph plotting module. more>>
Chart::PNGgraph is a graph plotting module (deprecated).

SYNOPSIS

use Chart::PNGgraph::moduleName;

Chart::PNGgraph is a perl5 module to create PNG output for a graph.
Chart::PNGgraph is nothing more than a wrapper around GD::Graph, and its use is deprecated. It only exists for backward compatibility. The documentation for all the functionality can be found in GD::Graph.

This module should work with all versions of GD, but it has only been tested with version 1.19 and above. Version 1.19 is the last version that produces GIF output, and requires a conversion step. The default distribution of Chart::PNGgraph uses Image::Magick for this. If youd like to use something else, please replace the sub png2gif in Chart::PNGgraph::Convert with something more to your liking.

NOTES

Note that if you use Chart::PNGgraph with a GD version 1.19 or lower that any included logos will have to be in the GIF format. The only time that PNG comes into play is _after_ GD has done its work, and the GIF gets converted to PNG. There are no plans to change that behaviour; its too much work, and you should really be upgrading to a version of GD that produces PNG directly.
