Auditor Security Linux 200605
The Auditor Security Linux is a live CD based on Knoppix. more>>
The Auditor security collection is a Live-System based on KNOPPIX. With no installation whatsoever, the analysis platform is started directly from the CD-Rom and is fully accessible within minutes.
Independent of the hardware in use, the Auditor security collection offers a standardised working environment, so that the build-up of know-how and remote support is made easier. Even during the planning and development stages, our target was to achieve an excellent user-friendliness combined with an optimal toolset.
Professional open-source programs offer you a complete toolset to analyse your safety, byte for byte. In order to become quickly proficient within the Auditor security collection, the menu structure is supported by recognised phases of a security check. (Foot-printing, analysis, scanning, wireless, brute-forcing, cracking).
By this means, you instinctively find the right tool for the appropriate task. In addition to the approx. 300 tools, the Auditor security collection contains further background information regarding the standard configuration and passwords, as well as word lists from many different areas and languages with approx. 64 million entries.
Current productivity tools such as web browser, editors and graphic tools allow you to create or edit texts and pictures for reports, directly within the Auditor security platform. Many tools were adapted, newly developed or converted from other system platforms, in order to make as many current auditing tools available as possible on one CD-ROM.
Tools like Wellenreiter and Kismet were equipped with an automatic hardware identification, thus avoiding irritating and annoying configuration of the wireless cards.

Castle Linux 2.4
Castle is a server distribution from the ALT Linux Team in Russia. more>>
Castle is a server distribution from the ALT Linux Team in Russia. Installation instructions and some other documentation is available in English.
Brief RSBAC instructions:
1. During installation process you will have to create security officer account. This is a user that can setup RSBAC security configuration.
2. Installer applies to RSBAC kernel two special parameters "rsbac_auth_enable_login" and "rsbac_softmode". Please, dont remove it. You need it for correct installation process.
3. Run RSBAC kernel just after system installation.
4. After reboot RSBAC will function in normal mode. If you need soft mode again, use rsbac_softmode kernel parameter during boot.
5. After finishing system configuration please reboot your server.
6. RSBAC will work in normal mode at all future startups of the system. You can boot RSBAC kernel in "soft" mode again using "rsbac_softmode" kernel parameter.
7. Login as security officer you have created during installation process and run main RSBAC configuration utility "rsbac_admin".
Default security configuration:
* All system directories are in "read only" and "execute only" mode.
* Base system configuration files (e.g /etc/lilo.conf /etc/fstab) are also in read only mode.
* Home directory is available only for users and security officer (but he has no access to users home directories).Security Officers home is situated in the root directory (/secoff) and is open only for the owner. You can also create trusted environment for security officer by putting special files into the home.
* There are some useful scripts in security officers home: to enable/disable useradd, to enable/disable install and an example script for http protection.

MultiAdmin Security Module 1.0.7
MultiAdmin security framework kernel module provides means to have multiple more>>
MultiAdmin security framework kernel module provides means to have multiple "root" users with unique UIDs.
This fixes collation order problems which for example appear with NSCD, allows to have files with determinable owner and allows to track the quota usage for every user, since they now have a unique uid.
MultiAdmin Security Module also implements a "sub-admin", a partially restricted root user, who has full read-only access to most subsystems, and additional write rights only to a limited subset, e.g. writing to files or killing processes only of certain users.
Enhancements:
- The NetAdmin user class has been removed since it can be handled in userspace.
- The code has been updated to work with Linux 2.6.22.

X/OS Linux 4.0
X/OS Linux is a GNU/Linux distribution for business and enterprise users. more>>
X/OS Linux is derived from the Free/Open Source rpm packages of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (RHEL4) under the requirements set forth by their trademark policy.
X/OS has spent considerable effort to avoid using Red Hats trademarks in any way that would imply an association with or sponsorship by Red Hat.
After some delay, the final release of X/OS Linux 4.0 is now available to the public.
The X/OS Linux team has spent considerable effort to assure the label enterprise-grade Linux for this milestone release. With the simultaneous availability of X/OS Linux 4.0 for x86 and x86_64 processor architectures, it delivers the latest best-of-breed Free and Open Source software for both 32- and 64-bit platforms.
Highlights include the 2.6 Linux kernel featuring numerous enhancements over the previous 2.4 version, Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) to apply more granular security policies, improved storage capabilities supporting file systems of up to 8TB and more.
The Global File System (GFS) and Cluster Suite software is included in this release to ease the task of creating and managing advanced cluster configurations, and is available as an extra option during installation. This powerful set of tools provides seamless scalability of applications such as databases, web servers and high-performance computing clusters with GFS enabling nodes to simultaneously read and write to a single shared filesystem.
Next to providing an advanced server platform, X/OS Linux 4.0 adds various enhancements to the desktop increasing usability with greatly improved office productivity tools, plug-and-play USB device recognition and power management supporting the ACPI standard.
In addition to compatibility with the de facto distribution for deploying Linux in the enterprise, X/OS Linux strides to include various other useful packages and tools that conform to the standard for mature and robust enterprise-grade software. One example is Xfce, an extra option in addition to Gnome and KDE, offering a light-weight desktop environment suited for use on low-end or thin client systems.
