Stendhal project is a full fledged multiplayer online adventures game (MMORPG) developed using the Arianne game development system.
Stendhal features a new, rich and expanding world in which you can explore towns, buildings, plains, caves and dungeons.
You will meet NPCs and acquire tasks and quests for valuable experience and cold hard cash.
Your character will develop and grow and with each new level up become stronger and better. With the money you acquire you can buy new items and improve your armour and weapons.
And for the blood thirsty of your; satisfy your killing desires by roaming the world in search of evil monsters!
Stendhal is totally platform independent, written using Java 1.5 and the Java2D environment.
This game is marked as BETA. This implies it is still under construction and may contain bugs or be feature incomplete, however it may still be playable so please have a go!
Enhancements:
- Houses in Kobold City (Wofol) have opened their doors, and include a weapons trader and a mountain dwarf who needs errands run.

ScryMUD project is a MUD with a Java client.
ScryMUD is a MUD written completely from scratch that has a full feature set including persistant belongings, a ree-based skill/spell system, game-navigated vehicles, complex scripting, player-owned stores and houses, and much more. The distribution also comes with Hegemon, a Java client that provides a nice UI for ScryMUDs Online Building.
Main features:
- Completely original world and code. We have 6000+ rooms, 400+ mobs and 400+ objects.
- Integrated Java Client (applet/application) which offers a nice interface to the game and to the Online Building tools.
- Player controlled shops (you get the goods, set the prices, and collect the dough.)
- Can Brew potions. This requires the brew skill, a cauldron, and the necessary ingredients.
- Can Scribe Scrolls. Requires a scroll, pen, and knowledge of the spell.
- Spells become less powerful when there are many scrolls/potions that can cast them in the game. This balances the above features.
- Skills and Spells are learned in a tree-like manner. You must learn the pre-requesites to at least 50% before you can move on to the skills/spells it enables. So, you can customize the character to your liking and are limited only by the number of practices you have.
- Game-navigated vehicles (though not widely used in the game yet.)
- Complex NPC scripting so that the builders can make quests and other interesting things.
- Mobs have some personality traits, which can influence their behavior in battle and afterwards. Some will track you down and kill you (and then return to their starting point. Others may heal you if you are badly hurt.
- Bulletin boards for in-game communication, as well as gossip, yell, and other channels.
- Banks to keep your cash safe for you.
- Configurable ANSI color.
- Some multi-lingual capability.

Enhancements:
- This release includes the addition of weather, several new spells and socials, minor improvements to ranged combat, and assorted bugfixes.

You are the sole proprietor of a lemonade stand in your front yard. Your parents were kind enough to knock together a booth and provide some initial capital and supplies.

You have three months to make as much money as possible. Placing money in the bank is a good idea. You earn interest.

The left side of the display contains four tabs (Prepare for Sale, Finances, Inventory, and Advertising) for managing your advertising and assets. The left side displays sales results and weather forecasts. Check the weather forecast then decide how much advertising to purchase, how many cups to make, and how much to charge. Press the Sell Lemonade button to see how you fared.

Prepare for Sale

Here you decide what quality of lemonade mix to use (Generic, Name Brand, or Premium), how many cups of lemonade to prepare, and how much to charge for each cup. Using a higher quality of lemonade will positively impact the price customers will pay and the number of cups they will purchase.

Finances

Your money is divided into working cash and a savings account. Purchases for supplies and advertising are deducted from your working cash. Profits from your lemonade sales will be added to your working cash. You can transfer money between your working cash and savings account. You will receive interest on your savings account at the end of each month. The interest is based on your average daily balance.

Inventory

Your inventory consists of lemonade mix and cups. Buying in larger quantities is more cost-effective. You can only make and sell as much lemonade as you have mix and cups. Lemonade mix comes in different levels of quality: Generic, Name Brand, and Premium. Higher quality lemonade costs more.

Advertising

Advertising helps to bring more customers to your stand. Notice that some types of advertising last multiple days while others only last for a day. Homemade signs last a variable period of time.

Weather

Weather has a significant impact on the number of customers that come to your stand and the amount that they will pay for your lemonade. You will receive a forecast for the next days weather each day. This forecast is somewhat accurate but not 100% reliable. The eight types of weather are listed below.

Sales Results

Here you will see the weather for the day, the number of customers who visited your stand, the number of cups you sold, and your gross and net profit. You will also learn about any random events that might impact your business.

Sort::Fields is a Perl module that can sort lines containing delimited fields.

Sort::Fields provides a general purpose technique for efficiently sorting lists of lines that contain data separated into fields.

Sort::Fields automatically imports two subroutines, fieldsort and make_fieldsort, and two variants, stable_fieldsort and make_stable_fieldsort. make_fieldsort generates a sorting subroutine and returns a reference to it. fieldsort is a wrapper for the make_fieldsort subroutine.

The first argument to make_fieldsort is a delimiter string, which is used as a regular expression argument for a split operator. The delimiter string is optional. If it is not supplied, make_fieldsort splits each line using /s+/.

The second argument is an array reference containing one or more field specifiers. The specifiers indicate what fields in the strings will be used to sort the data. The specifier "1" indicates the first field, "2" indicates the second, and so on. A negative specifier like "-2" means to sort on the second field in reverse (descending) order. To indicate a numeric rather than alphabetic comparison, append "n" to the specifier. A specifier of "0" means the entire string ("-0" means the entire string, in reverse order).

The order in which the specifiers appear is the order in which they will be used to sort the data. The primary key is first, the secondary key is second, and so on.
fieldsort [1, 2], @data is roughly equivalent to make_fieldsort([1, 2])->(@data). Avoid calling fieldsort repeatedly with the same sort specifiers. If you need to use a particular sort more than once, it is more efficient to call make_fieldsort once and reuse the subroutine it returns.

stable_fieldsort and make_stable_fieldsort are like their "unstable" counterparts, except that the items that compare the same are maintained in their original order.
