1-Box Cafe 3.0

1-Box Cafe 3.0

Internet Cafe in a box: Allows ten users to work simultaneously off one computer box by simply connecting extra video cards, monitors, keyboards and mice. This unique, all-in-one, robust computer prod more>>

Provides an ?instant? ten station Internet cafe. It is the fastest, simplest, and most portable way to provide sponsored Internet kiosks for conferences, trade shows, and conventions. By adding extra video cards, up to ten users can simultaneously browse the Internet, send email, and run a wide variety of business and productivity software, independently, with no significant loss in performance. Each workstation requires only a standard monitor, USB keyboard and mouse. This reduces hardware, software, and maintenance costs, which lowers the total cost of ownership by as much as ninety per cent. Furthermore, only one IP address is required, saving substantially on costly service fees at conference, trade show, and convention venues. It offers full public access protection and is virtually immune to all viruses. In short, Userfuls 1-Box Cafe provides affordable, worry-free, and brandable-by-sponsor, computer stations for meetings, conventions, conferences, and trade shows.

SharedAppVnc 1.0

SharedAppVnc 1.0

SharedAppVnc is a remote collaboration tool. more>>
SharedAppVnc is a remote collaboration tool. SharedAppVnc project allows sharing of applications between remote participants. In a typical usage scenario, two or more remote collaborators would run SharedAppVnc on their desktop computers while participating in a phone or conference call.

After establishing SharedAppVnc connections, possibly through ssh-tunnels, they would be able to share (replicate) windows between the remote desktops. The shared windows could optionally be controlled by the remote viewers, or they could be set to view-only.

SharedAppVNC is based on VNC (Virtual Network Computer), but with a modified VNC protocol that allows for window sharing. The main advantage of SharedAppVnc over traditional VNC is its ability to share individual windows rather than the entire desktop. Users typically have some applications which should remain private, such as email, and some applications they would like to share. Normal VNC is only able to share a users entire desktop and thus does not lend itself well to a combination of shared and private data.

SharedAppVnc has two components: a server for sharing windows and a client for viewing windows. The SharedAppVnc Server runs on a collaborators desktop computer and allows them to select which windows from the desktop to share. Only windows they select will be visible to the other collaborators.

The SharedAppVnc Viewer runs on the other collaborators computers and allows them to receive the shared windows. Typically collaborators will run both the Server and Viewer so that they can share and receive windows. One nice feature of the SharedAppVnc Viewer is that it puts each received window in its own frame which can be resized or positioned independently of the size or position of windows on the server or the other clients. Both the Server and Viewer can listen for or initiate connections.

SharedAppVnc versions are currently available for Linux and Mac OS X platforms. We are in the process of adding support for Windows OS.

Usage:

The Linux version of SharedAppVnc requires running three pieces of software: the server, viewer and control applet. The server, which allows windows to be shared, will be started automatically when the X11 server starts (X11 must first be configured to use SharedAppVnc).

The viewer is a java application that is started from the command line. It receives and displays shared windows. The control applet is a GUI that lets the user control the server. It lets the user select which windows to share or hide, or which viewers to connect to.

Getcontrol 0.1.7

Getcontrol 0.1.7

Getcontrol project is a GNOME 2 multimedia frontend. more>>
Getcontrol project is a GNOME 2 multimedia frontend.
Getcontrol is a GNOME 2 multimedia frontend.
It aims to play DivX, DVD, MP3, Ogg, and Shoutcast streams, and also provide digital photo viewing, video conferencing, etc., all connected with your remote control and running on your TV out.
It relies on Gstreamer for multimedia playback.
Indeed even with a smart lirc configuration it was a real maze to launch any DVD player application, or even a simple XMMS.
My wife just turned crazy and was not able to use it. I realized that compared to a hardware player my remotelly controlled linux box was not so friendly to use.
Then i took my Anjuta IDE, some docs from gnome.org websites and started to develop my own coherent GUI for this multimedia box.
Enhancements:
- Releasing : getcontrol 0.1.7
- Divx : Divx playback from CDROM (mounting/unmounting/ejecting)
- Audio : MP3 streams supported with xml configuration file (bookmark)
- Control : Play/Pause/Stop/Mute/VolUp/VolDown supported
- Tasking : Pressing menu while watching movie suspend movie and go back to main menu. Movie can be restored from menu.
- Busy activities : Implemented a busy animation showing clearly to the user what is busy. (Inspired from Mac OS X(R))

palaver 0.5

palaver 0.5

palaver is a multi-user chat component for Jabber and XMPP servers. more>>
palaver is a multi-user chat component for Jabber and XMPP servers. The intention for this project is to support all features of JEP-0045 as well as the relevant extended discovery features of JEP-0128.

palaver is written in Python using the Twisted framework for Internet applications. It is licensed under the open source MIT license.

The main inspiration for writing palaver was to replace JCR mu-conference. While mu-conference has served the community well, its lack of maintenance has left many searching for a replacement.

Currently all basic multi-user chat features are supported, including some extra things like ban lists. More features are on the way, and the intention is to fully support the entire protocol.

palaver is licensed under the MIT open source license. It is free to use, modify and distribute by commercial and non-commercial users and developers.

The suite of software is designed to work with an Asterisk system that has Zap(T1/E1/PSTN),IAX or SIP trunks and SIP/IAX/Zap phones.

This is a list dialer(another real-time web-client) that can be added to Asterisk and is highly configurable with detailed logging. This group of applications is designed to run on top of just about any version of Asterisk so no messing around with the Asterisk source code is necessary. For more information see the system requirements. astGUIclient is not an Asterisk configuration utility, it is an end-user Graphical User Interface.
