phpBB Blog is a blog tool for phpBB. The basic idea is this: you have a phpBB installation already running, youve set up a forum for your posts, and now you want to have a blog-ish page and RSS file to show off each post.

There are 3 major ways to use this product. Youll have to decide which one you want to pursue. First, there is the default setup, which uses the provided index.php file to display the blog. Second, there is the option to bypass the provided index.php file, and simply embed the blog display into your pre-existing home page. The third option is to embed a mini-blog into your pre-existing home page. All this displays is the title of recent posts.

Features include an RSS 2.0 feed for syndication; full support for BBCode, smileys, and avatars; permalinks with first/next/previous navigation; trackbacks; 7 different stylesheets to choose from; and as many Geo-URL settings as possible (so you can get listed in all those blog indexes that categorize you by location and/or language). Oh, and it integrates with phpBB Podcast, too.

PingBlog is a tag generator and ping tool for blog directories such as Blogalaxia, VeneBlogs, Technorati, To2Blogs and others.

Poster blog is a software which allows you to create a blog without the need of a database: all you need is an hosting (even a free one) with PHP support, FTP access and you must be able to chmod files.
Posting is really easy, thanks to a nice web interface which makes no use of JavaScript, so you can use it also on old browsers or even textual ones. I wrote down a list of Poster powered blogs (really short, at the moment, but I hope it will grow soon).
Poster blog works on plain text files and doesnt require a database.

Daizu::Gen::Blog is a generator for publishing a blog.

To publish a blog using Daizu CMS, create a top-level directory for it and set that directorys generator class to this one.

This class is a subclass of Daizu::Gen. The ways in which it differs are described below.

Article URLs

Article URLs are partially date-based. Articles can be stored anywhere inside the blog directory (the one with this generator class), providing their generator isnt overridden. You can use an arbitrary directory structure to organise your articles, but the URL will always be of this format:

.../YYYY/MM/slug/

where the first two parts are based on the published date of the article. slug is either the base part of its filename (everything but the last file extension) or if it is an _index file then the name of its parent directory. Any other directories, which dont directly contain an _index file, wont affect URLs at all.

Apart from having slightly different URLs than normal, blog articles are treated like any other articles.

Homepage

The blog directory will generate a homepage listing recent articles. Articles with daizu:fold elements in can be displayed specially, with only the content above the fold shown in the homepage (and date-based archive pages described below), with a Read more link to the full article.

Feeds

XML feeds of the latest articles will be generated, either in Atom or RSS format. See "CONFIGURATION" below for information about how to set these up. There will always be at least one feed generated for each blog.

Archive pages

For each year and month in which at least one article was published (based on the published date) there will be an archive page generated listing those articles.

Weeblog is a minimal blog engine based on XML/XSL, and requiring only CGI/Perl.

Weeblog features themeability (XSL), RSS feed generation, HTML filtering in comments/submissions, user accounts (htaccess), article comment counts, and new comment indication.

Directory structure:

/articles - contains the article xml files
/pub - public scripts (currently only archive-viewer)
/priv - private scrtips (article and comment submission, htaccess authorized)
/priv/rte - Rich text editor for article submission. (May be swapped to TinyMCE etc)
/themes - XSL stylesheet for theme and theme media

WeeBlog only needs Perl and write access to the articles and installation directory to work.

You will need to customize the theme xsl (/themes/weeblog/weeblog.xsl), at the very least you need to set the BLOGURL parameter for the theme to work.
