Open Computer Vision Library is a collection of algorithms and sample code for various computer vision problems. The library is compatible with IPL (Intel Image Processing Library) and utilizes Intel Integrated Performance Primitives for better performance.

Philosophy

Aid commercial uses of computer vision in human-computer interface, robotics, monitoring, biometrics and security by providing a free and open infrastructure where the distributed efforts of the vision community can be consolidated and performance optimized.

Vamos software allows computers to run software directly from the network, without installations. The software is stored on servers and is centrally maintained without the users effort or attention.

rootz is a new no install system that works differently. It mounts complete live systems over the web, and make them available locally. With rootz you can attach your local linux system to various livecds and simply run applications without any installation.

rootz is connected to the desired image (iso or squashfs), and uses rootz:// links to launch applications. The main advantage of this system, is that it uses unchanged official software without any repackaging (as opposed to klik, zero install or autopackage). Moreover, it is a true "on demand" mechanism that does not require full download of the software but fetches only the needed files. rootz can set up multiple isolated chroot environments, so it is possible run stable application side by side with new bleeding edge software.

Installation:

Run

You just need to click on those rootz:// links above, and wait... After few runs the page cache will contain common libs and files so applications will run faster.

Another option is to rootz-launcher in the command line interface. With this script you will be able to run non-gui programs.

Teacher Control Panel allows a teacher to monitor, lock, and operate student computers and broadcast the teachers screen to the students.
Teacher Control Panel can work with a mix of Windows and Linux workstations. The screens are captured using VNC, and the teachers screen is broadcast using multicast.
Main features:
- Supervise the activity of the students (view student screens)
- Lock student screens
- Broadcast the teacher screen to students (all students or a subset) fullscreen or in a window (this feature uses multicast therefore can scale to many computer very well)
- Control remotely a student computer
- Run a script for every student computers
- Compatible with any Java compatible OS (default configuration is for Linux)

Open Computer Forensics Architecture (OCFA) is a modular computer forensics framework built by the Dutch National Police Agency. The main goal is to automate the digital forensic process to speed up the investigation and give tactical investigators direct access to the seized data through an easy to use search and browse interface.
The architecture forms an environment where existing forensic tools and libraries can be easily plugged into the architecture and can thus be made part of the recursive extraction of data and metadata from digital evidence.
The Open Computer Forensics Architecture aims to be highly modular, robust, fault tolerant, recursive and scalable in order to be usable in large investigations that spawn numerous terabytes of evidence data and covers hundreds of evidence items.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a memory leak in the evidence library and adds a workaround to limit the impact of a memory-hungry indexer module.

LANdialler is a project which controls your routers dial up links from any computer (modem sharing).

LANdialler allows any computer (Windows, Linux, etc.) on a small LAN to control and share a modem attached to a *nix server.

It is typically used with IP masquerading or NAT on a Linux router to provide a house or small office with shared, on-demand, Internet access.

If you have a small home or office network (a LAN) that connects to the Internet via a dial up link on a Linux computer, then LANdialler could be of real use to you. If you havent got a Linux router yet find out how to set one up. The LANdialler client software should run on most operating systems, including Windows and Linux.

LANdialler consists of two programs:

The client is run on all desktop computers that require Internet access. It talks to the server, requesting Internet connectivity for as long as the user requires it. The interface is very simple, which is officially a "good thing".

The server runs on the router and manages the state of the dial up connection. It keeps track of the number of people who have asked to go online and keeps the Internet connection up until the last user disconnects.
