eQuake alert is a handy add-on, which alerts you with the basic information (date, location, and magnitude) of each earthquake. By default your browser will shake proportional to the earthquake magnitude.

You can configure the alert methods and even you can limit the alerts by the earth quake magnitude.

The recent quakes menu provides a link to the detailed information of quake @ the USGS (US Geological Survey) website.

Intruder Alert is a free top-down 2D maze arcade game written in FreePascal using the SDL library for multimedia output.

Its a hobby project and was inspired by 80s classics like wolfenstein 2d and alien breed.

MillScript-Alert is an extension to Javas RuntimeException, with an emphasis on providing far more debugging information.
This system is used extensively by the MillScript project and its libraries, with good results.
Enhancements:
- Introduced the AlertReporter interface to abstract reporting alerts and handle different types of report
- Escape exception now prints the details of the alert that lead to the escape
- Switch to Java 5, add generics type information and annotate overrides
- Fixed alert to report the class of any parent alert or throwable object, so that you can see this information.
- Added serialVersionUIDs to serializable classes, to enable version handling when serializing.
- Added extra culprit methods to support all the primitive types as culprit values.
- Added an IllegalArgumentAlert to match the basic IllegalArgumentException.

Log::Dispatch::File::Alerts is a Perl object for logging to alert files.

ABSTRACT

This module provides an object for logging to files under the Log::Dispatch::* system.

This module subclasses Log::Dispatch::File for logging to date/time stamped files. See Log::Dispatch::File for instructions on usage. This module differs only on the following three points:

alert files

This module will use a seperate file for every log message.

multitasking-safe

This module uses flock() to lock the file while writing to it.

stamped filenames

This module supports a special tag in the filename that will expand to the current date/time/pid.

It is the same tag Log::Log4perl::Layout::PatternLayout uses, see Log::Log4perl::Layout::PatternLayout, chapter "Fine-tune the date". In short: Include a "%d{...}" in the filename where "..." is a format string according to the SimpleDateFormat in the Java World (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html). See also Log::Log4perl::DateFormat for information about further restrictions.
In addition to the format provided by Log::Log4perl::DateFormat this module also supports $ for inserting the PID and ! for inserting a uniq number. Repeat the character to define how many character wide the field should be.
A note on the !: The module first tries to find a fresh filename with this set to 1. If there is already a file with that name then it is increased until either a free filename has been found or it reaches 9999. In the later case the module dies.

LooperNG is an intelligent event routing daemon. Primarily used for Network Management, this application can be used to accomplish a variety of tasks related to logging and alerting.
It is a modularised, rules-based event routing system that is flexible and easy to use. It is primarily deployed by network / security management groups as a central event gateway or an SNMP trap collection and forwarding station.
LooperNG events can be in the form of SNMP traps, Syslog Alerts, lines in a Log File, Sockets etc. Events can be received and generated such that an event can arrive in one form (e.g., SNMP) and forwarded in another form (e.g., Syslog). LooperNG can also receive events from systems like Nagios, Snort, Mon etc. and forward to other systems like a MySQL database, Netcool/OMNIbus, or just send an e-mail. Modules for new types of events can be easily written.
LooperNG was designed to improve on some of the limitations Looper (muthanna.com/looper). It is built completely from scratch with a cleaner more scalable architecture and is based on the Perl language.

GMail::Checker is a Perl wrapper for Gmail accounts.

This module provides a wrapper that allows you to perform major operations on your gmail account.

You may create a notifier to know about new incoming messages, get information about a specific e-mail, retrieve your mails using the POP3 via SSL interface.

hobbitalarm aims to be a notification client for the Hobbit / Big Brother monitor. It can be configured to execute commands on your local desktop when an alert has been caught by the hobbit monitor.
The project receives the information about the Hobbit state by polling the Hobbit / Big Brother Web frontend on a configurable, regular basis.
Quick start:
- copy hobbitalarm (x86, gcc4) to your path e.g. /usr/local/bin
OR
- compile for your platform "gcc -o hobbitalarm hobbital.c" and copy the resulting binary to your path
Enhancements:
- This release is in a very early development state.
- Currently, there is no build environment.
- On Linux it compiles with gcc, and for Windows an OpenWatcomC Project is attached to the source code.
- The resulting binaries, early documentation, and configuration examples are bundled.
- It is tagged pre-alpha because essential functions, like process detaching or (for Windows) system tray functionality, are not implemented yet.
- Basic notification is working. Htaccess protected Hobbit / Big Brother Web frontends cannot be reached because no authentication has been implemented yet.
