Airfart 0.2.1
AirFart is a wireless tool created to detect wireless devices, detect their signal strengths more>>
AirFart is a wireless tool created to detect wireless devices, calculate their signal strengths, and present them to the user in an easy-to-understand fashion. It is written in C/C++ with a GTK front end. Airfart supports all wireless network cards supported by the linux-wlan-ng Prism2 driver that provide hardware signal strength information in the "raw signal" format (ssi_type 3). Airfart has a modular n-tier architecture with the data collection at the bottom tier and a graphical user interface at the top.
Following suit with the major players in the wireless arena, we decided the air prefix best categorizes airfart. Further, re-arrange the letters in traf and you can get fart. So, our mission is to sniff out wireless devices who broadcast a scent.
We hope our name isnt offensive. 99% of the people we have come in contact with have thought the name is clever and funny. Remember, no one is forcing you to use it...
Enhancements:
- Updated interface.c and Makefile, now graphics are located in /usr/share/pixmaps/airfart
- Updated vendor.c, now manuf file is located in /usr/share/airfart;
- need to do make install before running airfart
- Added initial Gentoo ebuild file; still needs work
- Number of packets received per ethernet address is now stored
- Tweaked Makefile to not bail out if directories already exist
- Added the star to the about entry in help
- Added GUI support for Packet Count
- Added a column for numerical (percentage) strength
- Added support for a config file and a basic preferences box
- Changes do not yet affect behaviour of the program

Adrian 2.0
Adrian project is a RPG using SDL and OpenGL. more>>
Adrian project is a RPG using SDL and OpenGL.
Story Line:
Loacated In the deserts of Nevada, Area 51 the eternally mysterious facilities of the United States Army have been taken over by an evil scientist with the help of his genetically engineered creatures.
He plans to destroy the world using the the Intercontinental Balistic missiles (ICBMs) which have been lying unarmed in the desert since the end of cold war. He plans to arm these missiles and launch an attack on the world resulting in a Nuclear Holocaust.
The Area is heavily guarded, and attacks by air have been ruled out due to the State-of-the-art Anti Aircraft Battery.
The only hope of the world is Adrian. He has successfully completed many commando operations in Vietnam and Afghanistan.
As the Hero is dropped off, he gets the information that the ICBMs are being armed. The standard Arming and launch sequence takes some time. This is all the time Adrian has got to stop the ICBMs from lifting off from their silos. Once Launched, ICBMs cannot be recalled or destroyed.
Version restrictions:
- 1) Takes a lot of time to quit once the mission is sucessful.
- 2) The sound doensnt work properly on some of the systems :(( we are not sure about the reason.. if any of you know about it... plz.. send us...

SomaList 0.1
SomaList is a part of the Soma project. more>>
SomaList is a part of the Soma project.
Soma project started in summer 2003 to manage the digital version of an acitvists radio old spools.
The first release just gave just the chance to play random some audio files in a directory using an external program (at that time mpg123). In despite of that this software was never used, i kept on thinking about soma project for some weeks, until i started directly to work with a group called Reload, which was experimenting at the time a project called "eterete" and creating a place for a web radio at Pergola Tribe (a selfmanaged house in Milan).
We used, of course, a release, which was a little bit better to manage the radio-playlist and of course we implemented the software itself. From september till december soma became a software suite, configurable through file and (remote administration...). Thats thanks to the relationships and the inputs that such a community like Reload can create.
A group of passionate activists was able to make broadcastings and broadcast schedules, to find out new problems and to give implementation advices. They also suggest me the idea that soma (originally a simple play-list manager) could become a programs suite, which has a player, a software for deferred broadcasting, a more user friendly admininstration, documentation and distribution.
Some time after came soma player and soma admin. The player was still very behind compared to my implementation ideas. Somadmin was straight away on line and advertised on radio.inventati.org/somadmin/
In January 2004 we showed Soma at the first italian (web and air-waves) radio meeting in Naples. The meeting was technologically and politically profitable and it was an attempt to build up a real radio-network. Radio.inventati.org was actually the only example od direct cooperation among even very different people: individuals, improvised groups, very old and movement radios and experiences from overseas countries.
On the web site there are occasional streamings, weekly streamings, and 24hrs music flows.
The object of the technical research was a digital environment, which could let individuals or whole communities gain access to a common schedule with resum?s,
repetitions, deferred programs, live broadcastings, regular broadcastings as one national and international network. Soma could satisfy this need and could be easly managed through the web thanks to somadmin, which could update the soma admin in real time.
The developments went on. Somaplayer is now reality. The only music player which can stream directly an mp3, an ogg vorbis, a wav, a track from an audio cd or a streaming directly on an icecast server (icecast 2 or shoutcast) or just play it on a computer using sound drivers or sound daemons.
At the moment more other people work at this project, who debug the software, write docs, work at the website and make installation packages (for debian).

PircBot 1.4.6
PircBot is a Java framework for writing IRC bots quickly and easily. more>>
PircBot is a Java framework for writing IRC bots quickly and easily. PircBot has many features like an event-driven architecture to handle common IRC events, flood protection, DCC resuming support, ident support, and more. Its comprehensive logfile format is suitable for use with pisg to generate channel statistics. Full documentation is included, and this page contains a 5-minute step-by-step guide to making your first IRC bot.
PircBot allows you to perform a variety of fun tasks on IRC, but it is also used for more serious applications by the US Navy, the US Air Force, the CIA (unconfirmed), several national defence agencies, and inside the Azureus bittorrent client. But dont let that put you off - its still easy to use!
Enhancements:
- This release adds a new method to make it easy to identify with NickServ.
- This is useful on networks such as Freenode where a client must identify itself before it is able to send private messages.

The rendering
The two top pictures represent an slightly older version (v0.072) but graphically similar of CarWorld as it was presented for my project. v0.072 includes an OpenGL based renderer allowing
file input and displaying of texture mapped models with interpolated surface normals, real time projected shadows (as seen in the dino lights example).
background object
on screen command line to modify visual and simulation parameters
The mechanics
based on classical mechanics
uses standard metrics (Newtons, meters, seconds...)
there are no constraints on the environment surface
variable length time increments and variable increment number means "CarWorld time" is not dependent on frame rate.
adjustable simulation specs include: metrics, mass, moment of inertia around rotation axis, suspension pre load, compression damping, rebound damping, engine torque output, air friction, surface friction.

TA Spring is an open source project developing a new realtime strategy game. more>>
TA Spring is an open source project developing a new realtime strategy game.
Spring is a full 3D RTS game engine with good balanced content.
Games can be intense and the engine allows some diverse strategies.
At this moment the Spring engine is capable to run most (all) content that was available for the Total Annihilation engine.
Around 8 high profile mods have been made to run specificly on the Spring engine.
Spring is mainly a multi player game engine.
Some light AIs are available but they are not really challenging at this moment.
Spring runs on Windows and is stable. The Spring Linux ports runs alright but it cant connect to other Windows clients (yet) so Linux users are limited to single player.
The developers try to make Spring run natively on different platforms. (Windows, Linux, Mac and *BSD) And (try to) add features that modders request.
Main features:
- High resolution maps, viewable from all angles and ranges
- Dynamic map with craters from weapon and unit explosions
- Work with unit files from Total annihilation
- Realistic 3D trajectories for weapons
- Fully 3D air combat
- Several camera modes to suit different tastes
- Mod switcher
- Lobby Client
Enhancements:
- LUA related changes
- AI improvements
- balancing improvements
- lots of bugs fixed

wavbreaker 0.8.1
wavbreaker is a tool to split a wave file up into multiple waves. more>>
wavbreaker is a tool to split a wave file up into multiple waves.
This applications purpose in life is to take a wave file and break it up into multiple wave files. It makes a clean break at the correct position to burn the files to an audio cd without any dead air between the tracks. It will only read wave files, so use an appropriate tool to convert ogg, mp3, etc. files and then break them up.
The gui displays a summary of the entire wave file being worked on at the top. The middle portion displays a zoomed in view that allows you to select where to start playing the track and where it will make the break when the break button is clicked. When a break is made, another entry will be added to the bottom portion of the display. This is where you may change file names and select/unselect tracks that will be written when you click save.
There is also a command line tool to merge wave files together, wavmerge. So, if you download a show and dont like how it was tracked, you can merge them together with wavmerge and then break them back up with wavbreaker. This tool will only work on files that are alike. For example, 44100 khz sample rate, 16-bit sample size, etc. I would suggest a tool named sox to do any conversion you may need.
