pyhada ([py]thon [h]ttp [a]utosurfer [d]ock[a]pp), checks selected webpages periodically, for updates, and displays the updates in the dockapp.
What:
Pywmgeneral is a python module that will help you develope WindowMaker dockapps in python. It is mostly a wrapper around the functions from the popular wmgeneral.c, but some new functions are added too.
It also contains the Python written module pywmhelpers.py which contains functions to aid the development of wm dockapps. This module contains python functions that wrap up the functions which the extension module provides.
They ease up argument passing and give nicer return values. Some additional functions, like help for handling a simple configuration file is also available. This module is better documented than the pywmgeneral.
It is adviced to only use pywmhelpers and not touch the pywmgeneral module directly at all. For information about how to use the module, see the documentation in pywmhelpers.py. It is also possible to import it in the interactive interpreter and issue help(pywmhelpers).

GraphViz 2.02
GraphViz is a Perl interface to the GraphViz graphing tool. more>>
GraphViz is a Perl interface to the GraphViz graphing tool.
SYNOPSIS
use GraphViz;
my $g = GraphViz->new();
$g->add_node(London);
$g->add_node(Paris, label => City ofnlurve);
$g->add_node(New York);
$g->add_edge(London => Paris);
$g->add_edge(London => New York, label => Far);
$g->add_edge(Paris => London);
print $g->as_png;
This module provides an interface to layout and image generation of directed and undirected graphs in a variety of formats (PostScript, PNG, etc.) using the "dot", "neato", "twopi", "circo" and "fdp" programs from the GraphViz project (http://www.graphviz.org/ or http://www.research.att.com/sw/tools/graphviz/).
What is a graph?
A (undirected) graph is a collection of nodes linked together with edges.
A directed graph is the same as a graph, but the edges have a direction.
What is GraphViz?
This module is an interface to the GraphViz toolset (http://www.graphviz.org/). The GraphViz tools provide automatic graph layout and drawing. This module simplifies the creation of graphs and hides some of the complexity of the GraphViz module.
Laying out graphs in an aesthetically-pleasing way is a hard problem - there may be multiple ways to lay out the same graph, each with their own quirks. GraphViz luckily takes part of this hard problem and does a pretty good job in a couple of seconds for most graphs.
Why should I use this module?
Observation aids comprehension. That is a fancy way of expressing that popular faux-Chinese proverb: "a picture is worth a thousand words".
Text is not always the best way to represent anything and everything to do with a computer programs. Pictures and images are easier to assimilate than text. The ability to show a particular thing graphically can aid a great deal in comprehending what that thing really represents.
Diagrams are computationally efficient, because information can be indexed by location; they group related information in the same area. They also allow relations to be expressed between elements without labeling the elements.
A friend of mine used this to his advantage when trying to remember important dates in computer history. Instead of sitting down and trying to remember everything, he printed over a hundred posters (each with a date and event) and plastered these throughout his house. His spatial memory is still so good that asked last week (more than a year since the experiment) when Lisp was invented, he replied that it was upstairs, around the corner from the toilet, so must have been around 1958.
Spreadsheets are also a wonderfully simple graphical representation of computational models.

Role Playing Tools 1.1
Role Playing Tools extends the pen and paper role playing tabletop to the computer. more>>
Role Playing Tools extends the pen and paper role playing tabletop to the computer by providing a die rolling tool with a full expression language including Javascript functions, tabbed rolling bars, quick summation features, and the ability to save and restore sessions. There is also a client and server map sharing tool. Both are intended to be simple and powerful and enhance the game, not distract from it.
We found that we wanted to augment our pen-and-paper roleplaying (primarily 3.5ed D&D) with computer aids.
These tools extend and augment our traditional playing style. They are not a role playing game by themselves, nor are they meant to replace everything at the D&D table.
DiceToolis a simple but powerful expression parser that has built in functions for random number generation and can be further extended by JavaScript to do all sorts of calculations.
MapToolis an elegant graphical tool to share maps (images) and map data (drawings, markers, grid placement) in a client/server fashion between multiple players.
TokenToolis an accessory to MapTool. Drag any image onto the workspace and use the mouse to move and zoom the image in the reticle. Then drag from the preview pane directly onto MapTool -- or File->Save to save a png file.

K Learning Aid 0.7.6 beta
K Learning Aid pops up kvtml file items on the desktop. more>>
Klaid - K Learning Aid pops up kvtml file items on the desktop. Use KWordQuiz or FlashKard to produce kvtml files and load them into Klaid. It will grab all complete n x m related items (e.g. "Question" and "Answer", or "Word A" and "Word B") and displays them periodically as PopUps on the desktop. It is like someone is sitting behind you making sure you know all the terms for your next exam or test while surfing the web, coding, or whatever.
Intsllation:
Extract the archive, run "make -f Makefile.cvs && ./configure --prefix=PATH" first. Insert your KDE base installation dir for PATH. In Debian sid and Kubuntu that would be "/usr".
Then compile by typing "make". You may then install the program (as root) via checkinstall or "make install".
Enhancements:
- Version 0.7.6 beta
- Added dutch translation (thanks to Pieter Pareit), added slovenian translation (thanks to Jaka Kranjc), small bugfixes, source should now compile smoothly again
