I like using Amarok for managing my podcasts but I wasnt able to play my video podcasts.

Amarok Video Player adds a PlayVideo/Play menu item to the context menu which runs KMPlayer.

Edit the script to change KMplayer to another video player.

Whaaw! Media Player is an audio/video player using gstreamer (like totem but without GNOME dependencies).

Whaaw! Media Player will play any audio/video files which gstreamer can play. It supports fullscreen mode, seeking, changing video colour settings and more. It is inteded to be a basic media player similar to totem.

Cactus is just an audio file player. But it has some features that makes it different from other players.
There are music databases and there are players like xmms with a small and leightweight, skinable GUI.
Cactus combines these two types in one player! With Cactus you can read your music collection into a database, create a playlist by browsing/searching it and finally switch to player view(F2-Key).

Ogle is a real DVD player that supports DVD menus and navigation. It can access CSS-protected DVDs if you have libdvdcss installed, take screen shots, and view movies in fullscreen mode.
It handles angles correctly and automatically uses the correct aspect. You can switch subtitles and audio tracks. It runs on Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, and Solaris.

aeon is a music player that is meant to look nice and have an interface that is as easy to use as possible.

In contrast to BMPx it is entirely library based, which means you cant add individual files to it, but you have rather to add them to the library beforehand.

You can only play files from the library (akin to RhythmBox/iTunes).

Gecko Media Player is a browser plugin that uses GNOME MPlayer to play media in a browser.

The project should work with all browsers on Unix-ish systems(Linux, BSD, Solaris) and use the NS4 API (Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, etc.).

Gecko Media Player is in heavy development, but I wanted to get some code drops out there so that people can start using and testing it.

SBStudio PAC player is a library written in ANSI C to decode SBStudio PAC music modules into a stream of integer PCM audio data.
SBStudio PAC player is not a player in itself since theres no code to actually write the audio data anywhere. It is designed to be used in plugins, such as XMMS-PAC.
SBStudio PAC player is a C library to decode SBStudio PAC modules into a stream of PCM audio data. SBStudio is a music tracker for MS-DOS written by Henning Hellstroem in the early 1990s.
Enhancements:
- This package now includes the two plugins, xmms-pac and inpac, which were previously distributed as separate packages.
- Some minor corrections were made to the documentation.
- The code was cleaned up.
