Scorched3D 41 Beta

Scorched3D 41 Beta

Scorched3D is a 3D remake of the popular 2D artillery game Scorched Earth. more>>
Scorched 3D project is a game based loosely (or actually quite heavily now) on the classic DOS game Scorched Earth "The Mother Of All Games". Scorched 3D adds amongst other new features a 3D island environment and LAN and internet play. Scorched 3D is totally free and is available for both Microsoft Windows and Unix (Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, Solaris etc.) operating systems.
You can pick up the game and begin playing very quickly. Then, when/if you are interested, you can poke in the dimmer recesses of the game and get into the strategy (or just ignore it altogether!).
At its lowest level, Scorched 3D is just an artillery game with two+ tanks taking turns to destroy opponents in an arena. Choose the angle, direction and power of each shot, launch your weapon, and try to blow up other tanks. Thats basically it.
But Scorched 3D can be a lot more complex than that, if you want it to be. You can earn money from successful battles and use it to invest in additional weapons and accessories. You can play with up to twenty four other players at a time, mixing computer players with humans.
Theres a variety of changing environmental conditions and terrains to be dealt with. After the end of each round (which ends when everybody dies or theres only one person left), you get to buy stuff using the prize money you won from previous matches.

Maypole 2.12

Maypole 2.12

Maypole is a Perl framework for MVC-oriented web applications, similar to Jakartas Struts. more>>
Maypole is a Perl framework for MVC-oriented web applications, similar to Jakartas Struts. Maypole is designed to minimize coding requirements for creating simple web interfaces to databases, while remaining flexible enough to support enterprise web applications.
What does that mean?
Many web applications follow the same kind of flow of operation in response to a request from a user, they mess about with a database, and present the results of that messing about back to the user through some templating system.
For instance, searching a companys product catalogue will take a query from the remote web client, search the database for the rows matching that query, and format the rows as a list for display on a page.
This set-up is sometimes called "MVC", after the famous Smalltalk-80 Model-View-Controller paradigm. For our concerns, this means that the interaction with the user, (the controller element) the actions required at the database, (the model element) and the presentation of data (the view elements) are all neatly compartmentalised.
Maypole provides a generic way of handling that compartmentalisation. It provides the top-level code which examines the users request, fires off the relevant method in the model, collates the data, asks the view class to format it up and sends it back to the user. * As well as this, some common Perl modules, such as Apache, Class::DBI and Template, already perform important parts required for model, view or controller operation, so Maypole provides wrapper classes to help them fit into the framework.
Enhancements:

CCIDE 0.0.8-8

CCIDE 0.0.8-8

CCIDE is a tool that generates code from embedded decision tables. more>>
Ccide reads C, C++, BASIC, or bash source code containing embedded decision tables from stdin, expands the tables, copies the remaining statements, and forms a compilable C or C++ source module, executable bash script, or interpretable BASIC program.
Erratic side effects are avoided by evaluating all condition expressions at exactly the same time, and by performing all evaluations and actions in the original sequence.
Enhancements:
- Numerous fixes to BASH script generation.
- Added CC comment recognition: if //DECISION_TABLE: is encountered in a C program, use "//" for generated comments instead of /* .... */.
- Fixed standard C comment recognition and generation.
- Added environment variable, CCIDEW, to ccide script, to facillitate testing. If CCIDEW is empty, the ccide script will attempt to find the ccidew program and set the CCIDEW variable equal to its location; otherwise, the script will attempt to use the program at the CCIDEW location.
- Changed C program output from C++ style comments(//) to C style comments(/*...*/) to enhance portability.
- Added logic to suppress unnecessary condition evaluation (e.g. if there are only "Dont Care" entries in the condition statement).
- Added -p PREFIX option to substitute PREFIX for CCIDE in generated code.
- Added NEWGROUP in condition stub to replace ccide_group == $$.
- Eliminated unused case labels to reduce compiler warnings.
- Made some security enhancements.
- Replaced the typedef, CCIDE-BIT, with unsigned long.
- Added new target (make flaws) to Makefile for systems with flawfinder installed.

PyPedal 2.0.0 Beta 22

PyPedal 2.0.0 Beta 22

PyPedal is a Python module that provides tools for the manipulation of pedigrees. more>>
PyPedal project is a Python module that provides tools for the manipulation of pedigrees, simple visualization of pedigrees, and the calculation of measures of genetic diversity from pedigrees.
Enhancements:
- Added PyPedalError and PyPedalPedigreeInputFileNameError classes. Now the exception raised in NewPedigree::__init__() actually works sort-of correctly.
Did some more work in pyp_newclasses/NewAnimal::__init__() to make sure that string methods are not called on non-strings.
pyp_newclasses/NewAnimal::string_to_int() now uses a new hashing algorithm taken from "Character String Keys" in "Data Structures and Algorithms with Object-Oriented Design Patterns in Python" by Bruno R. Preiss: http://www.brpreiss.com/books/opus7/html/page220.html#progstrnga.
This fixes the collision problem with the previous algorithm (but any algorithm that produces, say, 32-bit integers will collide under the right circumstances).
OK, the problem with pyp_utils/reorder() has been identified: Ori Pelegs hashing approach used in pyp_newclasses/NewAnimal::string_to_int() is colliding. For example, the strings ANJHL5876DC and ONNLDF348RC hash to the same value.
Made a change to pyp_newclasses/NewAnimal::__init__() so that animal, sire, and dam names are correctly assigned even if integral IDs are passed rather than strings.
pyp_newclasses/NewPedigree::preprocess() no longer casts animal, sire, and dam IDs to strings when adding pedigree entries for missing sires and dams. The cast was breaking the founder assignment code in pyp_newclasses/NewAnimal::__init__().
Turned off a bunch of debugging messages left on in pyp_utils/reorder().
pyp_utils/assign_offspring() was rather thoroughly broken due to errors introduced when the new object model conversion was made.
Enhancements:
06/26/2007 More bugfixes to pyp_utils/reorder(). The
orderdict and orderbackdict dictionaries are now correctly
updated when an animal in the pedigree is moved. This fixed
cases where the pedigree was not correctly reordered. When
this happened, pyp_utils/renumber() caught KeyErrors while
looking up sires/dams and set parents to unknown, ignoring
known relationships in the pedigree. George Wigganss
persistent reports that the relationships being calculated
were just not right led to the root cause of the problem.
Thanks, George!
06/25/2007 Removed pyp_utils/reorder_list().
06/21/2007 pyp_utils/reorder() will now write error
messages to the logfile and STDIO if a pedigree could not be
renumbered in renumber_max_rounds of iteration.
06/21/2007 Added new parameter, max_rounds, to
pyp_utils/reorder(). pyp_newclasses/NewPedigree passes
renumber_max_rounds to reorder, but the routines in
pyp_nrm/* do not.
06/21/2007 Added new option, renumber_max_rounds, to
pyp_newclasses/NewPedigree::__init__(). The default value is
100 rounds.
06/21/2007 Completely rewrote pyp_utils/reorder(), which
has been the bane of my existences and source of most
PyPedal bugs for a Long Time Now.
06/21/2007 Fixed bug in pyp_nrm/inbreeding() so that it
correctly works with pre-calculated NRM.
06/20-/2007 Added a new function, pyp_io/write_ijk(), which
saves an NRM to a disk in ijk format, where i and j are
animal IDs and k is either (1. + the coefficient of
inbreeding) when (i == j) or coefficient of relationship
when (i != j).
06/20/2007 Rewrote an error message in
pyp_newclasses/NewPedigree::preprocess() so that it now
makes sense.

NG-Admin 1.2.8

NG-Admin 1.2.8

NG-Admin is designed for the content management of Databases. more>>
NG-Admin is designed for the content management of Databases, i.e. to browse, add, edit and delete data. It is somewhat similar to phpMyAdmin, but it is specialized to edit contents of the websites, not to edit the database structure. NG-Admin features are very easy to use and highly tunable.
NG-Admin was initially based on DASystem by Degtyarev Dmitriy, but because this project is no longer updated (last from 2003-11-28), we wrote lots of code completely new and added new functions and modules.
Main features:
- Easy to use, do not require training or special knowledge
- Easy to tune, just edit a single configuration file
- Multilingual support (English and German at the moment)
- Theme support (currently blue, red and a silver theme)
- Easy accessible menu always on the screen
- Automatical generation of menus and forms
- Supports MySQL
- Supports Browser upload of images and files
- Uploads can be made to local Directory or to a FTP-Server
- Cross-table data access
- Support for external modules
Enhancements:
- A new field named "timestamp_manual" has been added.
- As it says, it is to set values of timestamp fields manually.
- The error-messages are more detailed.
- By clicking "details" in the message box (available only on error), you will see a more detailed description about the error and why it occurred.
- The configuration file is easier to understand and has better comments sections.
- Minor fixes and speed improvements were made with colors and delete.
- A bug with local upload was fixed.
