Score2Rating is a script that converts the scores of your tracks in amaroK to ratings using some pretty accurate intervals. In future versions of Score2Rating, the intervals might become changeable.

This is mostly usable to give you a starting point for using the new rating system in amaroK 1.4 (SVN).

NOTE!

It is recommended that you back up your database (the statistics table at least) before running this script. It should do no harm, but you can never be too safe.

Note that tracks with the same score can get different ratings, this is because amaroK rounds the score that is saved in the database.

An example: If the shown score is 95 (the limit between rating 4 and 5), the database can contain anything from 94.500 to 95.499. If the "real" score is below 95 (94.500-94.999), the track will get a rating of 4, if its above 95 (95.000-95.499), the rating will be 5.

This will happen around all the rating limits (20, 60, 85 and 95).

Usage:

Just start it and then click configure, and it will do everything automagically!
It will tell you tell you (using a popup in the playlist window) when its done.

Contact Conductance Estimator (CoCoE) is a program that estimates the conductance (or resistance) between two surfaces in contact.
It is meant to be used by designers and analysts of physical systems where heat transfer by means of contact is of importance.
CoCoE is written in Perl, and uses a self-contained SQLite database and Tk for the user interface.
Enhancements:
- Many new entries in the database.
- Many fixes to existing entries in the database (correlations are now much more accurate).
- The CoCoE window now has a status bar that displays help messages.
- CoCoE will now ask for contact pressure input method (Direct or via Load and Area) instead of the older way.
- It is now possible to input as many contact pressures as wanted, instead of having to start over every time you want to try a new value.

K3Guitune is a program that lets you tune a musical instrument using your computer and its microphone.
KGuitune project takes the microphone input, determines its frequency, and displays where on the note scale that is using an oscilloscope and a note scale graphic. K3Guitune supports three different tunings: normal, Wien and physical.
Its a port to KDE 3 of the K2Guitune program by Florian Berger. It is not likely to run out of the box on other systems than Linux, but porting should be easy. K3Guitune has been translated into Dutch and German.
Enhancements:
- K3Guitune now uses auto-correlation for frequency determination, which gives much more accurate results.

m2vmp2cut is frame accurate (currently PAL) MPEG2 video (M2V file) with accompanied MP2 audio cutter.

Frame accuracy is achieved by re-encoding video around cutpoints. Audio is cut from a separate MP2 file at positions that keep A/V sync as good as possible (maximum sync difference is around 10-15 milliseconds compared to the source).

IP::Country is a tool for fast lookup of country codes from IP addresses. Finding out the country of a client using only the IP address can be difficult.

Looking up the domain name associated with that address can provide some help, but many IP address are not reverse mapped to any useful domain, and the most common domain (.com) offers no help when looking for country.

IP::Country module comes bundled with a database of countries where various IP addresses have been assigned. Although the country of assignment will probably be the country associated with a large ISP rather than the client herself, this is probably good enough for most log analysis applications, and under test has proved to be as accurate as reverse-DNS and WHOIS lookup.

Java Stencil Report is designed to write school reports in a fast way by a set of user-inserted sentences. The project has a small vector graphics editor to create a full customizable print model. Java Stencil Report is designed for schools, but can be used to write any kind of judgement. It does not require any installation.
Enhancements:
- Lines in the print model editor (VectorGraphicsLine) can now be mouse-selected with a more accurate mask.
- VectorGraphicsElement z-depth is now displayed in the status bar.
- A new user friendly dialog for changing the form period was added.
- The placement of VectorGraphicsElement was randomized.
- Transparency was added to the selection border.
- The generic name "Indicator" is now substituted with a more appropriate "Evaluation Wizard" and "Stencil" in all label and the jstecilreport folder.
- A new set of icons was provided in the print model editor.
- Some code was optimized.

Yaalr is Yet Another Apache Log Reader. It is a perl script which reads an Apache log file and outputs a short report on the command line. Yaalr is being actively developed and there is a release available below.
In the future Yaalr will have other ways to gather information on visitors to your web site. It will produce output as a web page so you can run it from cron and it will have a javascript component which will allow you to track multiple web sites in a single log which ignores robots. Stay tuned!
