Authentic 0.7.1

Authentic 0.7.1

Authentic is a Liberty-enabled identity provider aiming to address a broad range of needs, from simple to complex setups. more>>
Authentic project is a Liberty-enabled identity provider aiming to address a broad range of needs, from simple to complex setups.
Its Liberty compliance relies on Lasso, a free softaware implementation of the Liberty Alliance specifications. It is a quixote application and is commonly run inside the Apache Web server.
Main features:
Liberty conformance
While not certified itself Authentic implements Liberty protocols through the use of Lasso that has been certified as conformat to Liberty specifications in May 2005. Authentic implements every feature required by the Identity Provider Conformance Matrix.
Additionally it has several extra features; for example it can act as a proxy identity provider, redirecting requests from service providers to other identity providers; or sharing identity attributes through ID-WSF Personal Profile (with an appropriate version of Lasso).
Performance
The underlying components are quite fast and Authentic doesnt slow things down. There are no hard measure yet but a quick benchmark using ab (from Apache) yielded more than 200 requests per second on my development laptop (Centrino 1.5GHz, 1GB RAM).
Ease of Administration
Authentic has a nice and useful web administrative interface; it provides convenient identity management and log analysis. It also has its share of parameters so it adapts to different needs without any code change.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes minor but annoying issues with 0.7.0 (error display and translations).

Music::Chord::Namer 0.01

Music::Chord::Namer 0.01

Music::Chord::Namer - You give it notes, it names the chord. more>>
Music::Chord::Namer - You give it notes, it names the chord.

SYNOPSIS

use Music::ChordName qw/chordname/;

print chordname(qw/C E G/); # prints C
print chordname(q/C E G/); # same (yes, array or string!)
print chordname(qw/C Eb G Bb D/); # prints Cm9
print chordname(qw/G C Eb Bb D/); # prints Cm9/G

Music::ChordName optionally exports one sub, chordname, which accepts some notes as either a string or a list and returns the best chord name it can think of.

EXPORT

None by default.

$bestnamescalar|@namesarray = chordname($notesstring|@notesarray)
chordname() accepts either a string of notes such as "C Eb G A#" or a list of notes such as qw/Ab Bb F Bb D/. In a scalar context it returns the best name it could think of to describe the chord made from the notes you gave it. In an array context it returns all of the names it thought of, sorted from best to worst (shortest to longest!)

EXAMPLES

# to print a bunch of guitar chord names with at lest 4 notes each,
# all below 5th fret...

foreach my $s1(qw/- E F Gb G Ab/){
foreach my $s2(qw/- A Bb B C Db/){
foreach my $s3(qw/- D Eb E F Gb/){
foreach my $s4(qw/- G Ab A Bb/){
foreach my $s5(qw/- B C Db D Eb/){
foreach my $s6(qw/- E F Gb G Ab/){
my @notes = ();
push @notes, $s1 unless $s1 eq -;
push @notes, $s2 unless $s2 eq -;
push @notes, $s3 unless $s3 eq -;
push @notes, $s4 unless $s4 eq -;
push @notes, $s5 unless $s5 eq -;
push @notes, $s6 unless $s6 eq -;
if(@notes >= 4){
print scalar(chordname(@notes)), = ,join( ,@notes),"n";
}
}
}
}
}
}
}

KD Chart 2.0 Beta1

KD Chart 2.0 Beta1

KDChart is a tool for creating business charts and is the most powerful Qt component of its kind. more>>
KDChart application is a tool for creating business charts and is the most powerful Qt component of its kind.
Besides from having all the standard features, it also enables the developer to design and manage a large number of axes and provides sophisticated means of customization.
In addition to detailed and precisely configuring the chart layout it is possible to complement the design by adding custom rich-text boxes and/or frames to data points or to random positions.
Being extremely configurable, KDChart is also easily scalable by automatically adjusting font sizes and layout when being resized. This makes it possible to quickly and efficiently create user-friendly programs that offer the same level of functionality, or a even higher one, in Qt programs as on other platforms. It is no coincidence that the current version of the KOffice productivity suite uses our library.
Whats New in 1.1.3 Stable Release:
Besides from various smaller fixes, code adjusting and other issues like documentation updates, the following list contains a list of bugfixes included in the KD Chart 1.1.3 release.
Printing:
- Fixed the display of the axis title font when using high resolution printing.
Bars:
Fixes 3D bars painting:
- The front face of the bar now matches the y axis labels.
- Fixed various rendering errors depending of the values of the bars (high values - negative values ...)
Fixes bars painting
- Fixed painting of excess arrows, when the user choose to display a restricted view of the chart ( start/end values).
- The user have a better control over the bar Width when needed.
- Fixed occasional painting problem when resizing a barPercent view.
- Bar painting is more accurate and looks better.
3D Lines:
- Fixed wrong display for 3D lines painting.
Axis
- Fixed axis subdelimiters: Were not always precisely matching with the grid lines, data values.
- Added the possibility to force the diplay of non fractional values on the axis.
Legends:
- Fixed alignment of the legend text to its marker.
- Fixed rendering legends when changing its position and orientation
Compiling:
- Fixed a compilation issue on gcc 3.4
Labels truncation and position:
- Several small issues has been fixed. Those cases were happening occasionally.

cdenc 0.9.4

cdenc 0.9.4

cdenc lets you encode whole audio CDs in a special directory which can be burned on CDROM afterwards. more>>
cdenc lets you encode whole audio CDs in a special directory which can be burned on CDROM afterwards.
For other mp3 players like WinAmp the mp3 info tags are set correctly, so that you also get there the full title infos. Additionally you could generate long filenames, so that you could play the music via a shell or explorer environment. Last not least, cdenc generates html files to let you browse through with a normal html browser (but then you cant play more titles on one time).
Furthermore cdenc generates by using Gimp and mpeg2encode bitmaps for the osd of Yamakawa/Raite DVD/MP3 player. cdenc doesnt have a graphical user interfaces. As a clean commandline script, it is designed also to run on machines without X11 (number cruncher) and can work backgrounded. Once correct configured, the work with cdenc reduce to the insertion of an audio CD and the subsequent call of "cdenc -medname mp3cd001", which makes cdenc test if the CD ist not already on another media and if not starts the complete grabbing, compression and index generation.
Unfortunaly cda(xmcd) and gimp have changed a lot so that cdenc wont run with the actual versions. I will change the code to use libaudiocd, but that will take some time. Sorry for that.
Enhancements:
- replaced routine "double" through sprintf (thx to Travis Whitton)
- made cdenc ready to work with Gimp 1.1.18

Convert::Morse 0.04

Convert::Morse 0.04

Convert::Morse is a package to convert between ASCII text and MORSE alphabet. more>>
Convert::Morse is a package to convert between ASCII text and MORSE alphabet.
SYNOPSIS
use Convert::Morse qw(as_ascii as_morse is_morsable);
print as_ascii(.... . .-.. .-.. --- -- --- .-. ... .),"n";
# Helo Morse
print as_morse(Perl?),"n"; # .--. . .-. .-.. ..--..
print "Yes!n" if is_morsable(Helo Perl.); # print "Yes!"
This module lets you convert between normal ASCII text and international Morse code. You can redefine the token sets, if you like.
INPUT
ASCII text can have both lower and upper case, it will be converted to upper case prior to converting.
Morse code input consists of dashes - and dots .. The elements MUST NOT to have spaces between, e.g. A is .- and not . -. Characters MUST have at least one space between. Additonal spaces are left over to indicate word boundaries. This means .- -... means AB and and .- -... means A B.
The conversion routines are designed to be stable and ignore/skip unknown input, so that you can write:
print as_ascii(Hello -- --- .-. ... . Perl!);
beware, though, a single . or - at the end will be interpreted as . respective - and thus become E or T. Use Convert::Morse::error() to check wether all went ok or not.
OUTPUT
The output will always consist of upper case letters or, in case of as_morse(), of [-. ].
ERRORS
Unknown tokens in the input are ignored/skipped. In these cases you get the last error message with Convert::Morse::error().
Version restrictions:
- Can not yet do Japanese code nor German Umlaute.

MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51.19

MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51.19

MySQL Connector/ODBC is an ODBC driver for the MySQL database server. more>>
MySQL Connector/ODBC project is an ODBC driver for the MySQL database server.
MySQL is a multithreaded, multi-user SQL database management system (DBMS) which has, according to MySQL AB, more than 10 million installations.
MySQL is owned and sponsored by a single for-profit firm, the Swedish company MySQL AB, which holds the copyright to most of the codebase.
This is similar to the JBoss model and how the Free Software Foundation handles copyright in its projects, and dissimilar to how the Apache project does it, where the software is developed by a public community and the copyright to the codebase is owned by its individual authors.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a regression in the handling of character data from the server when the server misidentifies it as binary data. (The driver contains a workaround for this server bug that was inadvertantly removed.)

Sanefile 1.05

Sanefile 1.05

Sanefile is a tool to easily and quickly clean and change a large number of filenames. more>>
Sanefile is a tool to easily and quickly clean and change a large number of filenames. The idea started when I started “ripping” my own CD’s and the filenames were all different and full of errors. When I started getting TV downloads from other sources, the issue became a problem.

I had to find an efficient way of changing a large number of filenames. Sanefile was the result. Simple, single-purpose and very efficient at it with total exploitation of Tcl’s rich Regular Expression capabilities.

What this tool is NOT: spy-ware, spam-ware, virus or any other crappy stuff.

With Sanefile, you can use the full power of regular expressions. For instance, imagine that you want to filter off all files starting with a A. To use the just A would remove from the list all the files with A in it. Not the solution. If you use ^A (Carat and A) it means that it has to match A only at the beginning of the text.

More examples:

^text matches "text" in the beginning of the name
text$ matches "text" in the END of the filename
. matches ANY character
[ ] range indicator as in:
[a-z] matches ONE letter "a" to "z"
[a-zA-Z] matches ONE letter "a" to "z" and "A" to "Z"
[0-9] matches ONE digit
[^range] (caret) matches if NOT in the range as in:
[^0-9] matches if it is NOT a digit
* operator for repetition
.* matches everything
[0-9]* multiple digits
[^a-zA-Z0-9]* a bunch of everything BUT a letter or digit
escape operator
t tab
( when you want to match (
. when you want to match .
when you want to match (RARELY DONE! Think why.)
() used to group expressions
ab* a followed with multiple bs
(ab)* multiple ab (different from above!)

^Doors.*([A-Z][0-9]*).*.mp3$ Matches all files starting with Doors, have somewhere in the middle a letter followed by digits and end in ".mp3"

# dump the entire regression object (WARNING, this could be a LOT OF DATA)
use Data::Dumper;
my $d = Data::Dumper->new([$ro]);
print $d->Dumpxs;

GOALS

This project is meant to be the foundation of a complete benchmarking and regression testing suite for an advanced, transaction-based mod_perl site. We need to be able to stress our server to its limit while also having a way to verify the HTTP responses for correctness. Since our site is transaction-based (as opposed to content-based), we needed to extend the single-URL ab model to a multiple-URL sequence model.

ApacheBench is based on the Apache 1.3.12 ab code (src/support/ab.c).

Note: although this tool was designed to be used on an Apache mod_perl site, it is generally applicable to any HTTP-compliant server. Beware, however, that it sends a high volume of HTTP requests in a very short period of time, which may overwhelm some weaker HTTP server implementations like NT/IIS.

ApacheBench sends sequences of HTTP requests to an HTTP server and keeps track of the time taken to receive a response, the data that was returned, the size of the data that was returned, and various other bits of information.
Since it is implemented in C, it sends HTTP requests in a tight loop which can stress your server to 100% capacity, especially if invoked in multiple concurrent instances. It gives accurate time measurements down to the millisecond for each HTTP request-response interval.

Included is a simplified re-implementation of ab using the ApacheBench Perl API. This should help get you started with ApacheBench.
