cim 3.30

GNU Cim is a compiler for the programming language Simula. more>>
GNU Cim is a compiler for the programming language Simula (except unspecified parameters to formal or virtual procedures (see the documentation for how portable code for formal procedures can be written)).

cim project offers a class concept, separate compilation with full type checking, interface to external C routines, an application package for process simulation and a coroutine concept.

Supported Platforms

Cim runs on any GNU or UNIX like operating systems regardless of the machine type. The portability of the GNU Simula Compiler is based on the C programming language. The compiler and the run-time system is written in C, and the compiler produces C code, that is passed to a C compiler for further processing towards machine code.

Chkconfig 1.3.30a

Chkconfig 1.3.30a

Chkconfig is a tool for managing the collection of symbolic links found in the /etc/rc[0-6].d directories. more>>
Chkconfig is a tool for managing the collection of symbolic links found in the /etc/rc[0-6].d directories, on System V derived UNIX systems. The project saves the system administrator from the tedium of manually managing the scores of symbolic links.
SGI originally created chkconfig and shipped it with their IRIX operating system. In 1993, Italo Lisi and Luigi Genoni created a script version of chkconfig for Linux. Several years later, RedHat independently created their own C version of the same idea, which is the basis for the code provided here.
In this version, an autoconf style configure script is added, as well as some detection for the /etc/rc.d directory (eg. /etc under Solaris). I sent patches to RedHat based on their RedHat-5.2 version, but never received any communication back.
It seemed like a generally useful tool, especially for porting RPM spec files to Solaris, so Im making it available here.
The newest version (1.3.30a) is based on the version shipped with Fedora Core 6. I have only tested it under Debian, but should compile easily on other distributions if you have a library supporting the getopt_long() function.
Installation:
The installation procedure is the standard GNU one:
# ./configure
# make
# make install
which should detect the configuration your OS uses and compile the program with the correct defaults. If it is unable to determine the initscript directories for your platform, there are specific options documented in INSTALL. (Please also email the author the options you gave to configure, so that the sources can be modified to automatically support your system.)
You can also pass the --disable-ntsysv option to configure to skip compilation of that program. Similarly, --disable-alternatives skips compilation of the alternatives program.
Enhancements:
- Updated to match version 1.3.30 as distributed by Fedora Core 6.
- Now includes the "/usr/sbin/alternatives" program, and no longer requires the popt library.

globalset will change the < attribute > of the teamspeak instance and set it to < value >.

These are the currently available attributes and their values:

attribute value
hoster_gfx_url text

Note: This is a URL to a image to be displayed to connected clients, changes to it will only be visible to clients connecting after you changed it - and the changes will not be
saved to the server.ini, meaning will not be permanent over a server restart.

allowedclientnamechars text

Note: This restricts what characters you will allow in nicknames. Users with disallowed characters will get a message when they connect.

disallowedclientnamechars text

Note: This is the little brother of allowedclientnamechars - characters you set here will not be allowed in nicknames, clients will be informed what characters they are using that are not allowed on this server. The default setting for this will be "()[]{}" to prevent flag faking.

VCShell is a command line interface for VCS::Lite::Repository. more>>
VCShell is a command line interface for VCS::Lite::Repository.

SYNOPSIS

B< ci >|check_in name [name...]
B< co >|check_out parent_repository
B< commit >
B< update >
B< cd > repository
B< fetch > name@@gen [>outfile]
B< diff > file1[@@gen1] [file2[@@gen2]] [>outfile]

VCShell provides a command line interface to the VCS Lite Repository. This aims to be usable by non-Perl programmers, as it provides a wrapper to the functionality in the module.

COMMANDS

add

The add command adds something to a repository: an element or a repository. If the parameter given is a directory, it makes it a repository, otherwise an element. An empty file is created for the element if none exists.

remove

Remove breaks the association between a repository and something it contains. It does not delete any files.

ci

This command is used to check in changes to one or more elements and repositories. Each repository checked in is also recursively checked in.

clone

This makes a clone of one repository into another, and recursively for everything in it. The new repository contains a parent link which points at the original.

commit

If the repository is a clone of a parent repository, this propagates any changes to the parent. Note, a check in (ci) is needed on the parent, for this change to be applied.

update

This command is used to apply any changes that have happened to the parent. Three way merging occurs for any change that has happened in the mean time.

diff

This command outputs a udiff listing for two generations of an element, or for two different elements. The default generation used is the latest, and the default generation for the "from" file is the predecessor to the "to" generation if comparing the same element.

The output is in diff -u format.

KAlgebra 0.5

KAlgebra is a MathML-based graphic calculator. more>>
KAlgebra is a MathML-based graphic calculator, thought to bring to the user its power by solving expressions written in MathML or calculating converted common equations to MathML.
Enhancements:
ExpressionEdit improved in many ways:
- History added
- Highlighting for MathML added
- Toggling between MathML-mode and Expression-mode enabled
- Can tell if we are writing into a function (operator or ci) so we can help the user a bit (for the moment)
- GUI a bit remade, no more MathML or expression tab, everything goes into ExpressionEdit, can change with shift+TAB
- Variable edition dialog added. Useless but looks nice :)
- divide operators fixed (divide, quotient, rem, factorof)
- approx added
- Expression to MathML compiler optimized. Some operators treated as n-ary instead of binary
- Simplification option added (F2)
- Fixed PowerPC error, now should behave fine
- Function support added

pod2man 5.6.2

pod2man 5.6.2

pod2man is a Perl module that can convert POD data to formatted *roff input. more>>
pod2man is a Perl module that can convert POD data to formatted *roff input.

SYNOPSIS

pod2man [--section=manext] [--release=version] [--center=string] [--date=string] [--fixed=font] [--fixedbold=font] [--fixeditalic=font] [--fixedbolditalic=font] [--official] [--lax] [--quotes=quotes] [input [output] ...]

pod2man --help

pod2man is a front-end for Pod::Man, using it to generate *roff input from POD source. The resulting *roff code is suitable for display on a terminal using nroff(1), normally via man(1), or printing using troff(1).

input is the file to read for POD source (the POD can be embedded in code). If input isnt given, it defaults to STDIN. output, if given, is the file to which to write the formatted output. If output isnt given, the formatted output is written to STDOUT. Several POD files can be processed in the same pod2man invocation (saving module load and compile times) by providing multiple pairs of input and output files on the command line.

--section, --release, --center, --date, and --official can be used to set the headers and footers to use; if not given, Pod::Man will assume various defaults.

pod2man assumes that your *roff formatters have a fixed-width font named CW. If yours is called something else (like CR), use --fixed to specify it. This generally only matters for troff output for printing. Similarly, you can set the fonts used for bold, italic, and bold italic fixed-width output.

Besides the obvious pod conversions, Pod::Man, and therefore pod2man also takes care of formatting func(), func(n), and simple variable references like $foo or @bar so you dont have to use code escapes for them; complex expressions like $fred{stuff} will still need to be escaped, though. It also translates dashes that arent used as hyphens into en dashes, makes long dashes--like this--into proper em dashes, fixes "paired quotes," and takes care of several other troff-specific tweaks. See Pod::Man for complete information.

OPTION

-c string, --center=string

Sets the centered page header to string. The default is "User Contributed Perl Documentation", but also see --official below.

-d string, --date=string

Set the left-hand footer string to this value. By default, the modification date of the input file will be used, or the current date if input comes from STDIN.

--fixed=font

The fixed-width font to use for vertabim text and code. Defaults to CW. Some systems may want CR instead. Only matters for troff(1) output.

--fixedbold=font

Bold version of the fixed-width font. Defaults to CB. Only matters for troff(1) output.

--fixeditalic=font

Italic version of the fixed-width font (actually, something of a misnomer, since most fixed-width fonts only have an oblique version, not an italic version). Defaults to CI. Only matters for troff(1) output.

--fixedbolditalic=font

Bold italic (probably actually oblique) version of the fixed-width font. Pod::Man doesnt assume you have this, and defaults to CB. Some systems (such as Solaris) have this font available as CX. Only matters for troff(1) output.

-h, --help

Print out usage information.

-l, --lax

Dont complain when required sections are missing. Not currently used, as POD checking functionality is not yet implemented in Pod::Man.

-o, --official

Set the default header to indicate that this page is part of the standard Perl release, if --center is not also given.

-q quotes, --quotes=quotes

Sets the quote marks used to surround C text to quotes. If quotes is a single character, it is used as both the left and right quote; if quotes is two characters, the first character is used as the left quote and the second as the right quoted; and if quotes is four characters, the first two are used as the left quote and the second two as the right quote.

quotes may also be set to the special value none, in which case no quote marks are added around C text (but the font is still changed for troff output).

-r, --release

Set the centered footer. By default, this is the version of Perl you run pod2man under. Note that some system an macro sets assume that the centered footer will be a modification date and will prepend something like "Last modified: "; if this is the case, you may want to set --release to the last modified date and --date to the version number.

-s, --section

Set the section for the .TH macro. The standard section numbering convention is to use 1 for user commands, 2 for system calls, 3 for functions, 4 for devices, 5 for file formats, 6 for games, 7 for miscellaneous information, and 8 for administrator commands. There is a lot of variation here, however; some systems (like Solaris) use 4 for file formats, 5 for miscellaneous information, and 7 for devices. Still others use 1m instead of 8, or some mix of both. About the only section numbers that are reliably consistent are 1, 2, and 3.
By default, section 1 will be used unless the file ends in .pm in which case section 3 will be selected.

EXAMPLES

pod2man program > program.1
pod2man SomeModule.pm /usr/perl/man/man3/SomeModule.3
pod2man --section=7 note.pod > note.7

If you would like to print out a lot of man page continuously, you probably want to set the C and D registers to set contiguous page numbering and even/odd paging, at least on some versions of man(7).

troff -man -rC1 -rD1 perl.1 perldata.1 perlsyn.1 ...

To get index entries on stderr, turn on the F register, as in:

troff -man -rF1 perl.1

The indexing merely outputs messages via .tm for each major page, section, subsection, item, and any X directives.

seccheck 0.7.5

seccheck 0.7.5

Seccheck is a feature rich, modular, host-level security checker for Solaris 10. more>>
Seccheck is a feature rich, modular, host-level security checker for Solaris 10.
On reviewing the excellent security benchmarks available over at CI Security, I wanted to automate the security checks of my Solaris 10 servers and produce a highly detailed report listing all security warnings, together with recommendations for their resolution. The solution was seccheck - a modular host-security scanning utility. Easily expandable and feature rich, although at the moment only available for Solaris 10.
This doesnt cover 100% of the checks recommended by CI Security, but has 99% of them - the ones that I consider important. For example, I dont check X configuration because I always ensure my servers dont run X.
Installation
The source distribution should be unpacked to a suitable location. I suggest doing something like the following:
# mkdir /usr/local/seccheck
# chown root:root /usr/local/seccheck
# chmod 700 /usr/local/seccheck
# cd /usr/local/seccheck
# mkdir bin output
# cd /wherever/you/downloaded/seccheck
# gzip -dc ./seccheck-0.7.1.tar.gz | tar xf -
# cd seccheck-0.7.1
# mv modules.d seccheck.sh /usr/local/seccheck/bin
Everything is implemented as bash shell scripts, so there are no really strict installation guidelines, place the files wherever you wish. You can specify an alternate location for the modules directory with the -m option anyway.
Using seccheck
By default, seccheck.sh will search for a modules.d directory in the same directory in which the seccheck.sh script is located. If your modules are not located there, you can use the -m option to specify an alternate module location, for example:
# ./seccheck.sh -m /security/seccheck/mymodules
seccheck will then scan through the modules.d for valid seccheck modules (determined by filename). A seccheck module filename should be of the following format:
seccheck_nn_somename.sh
Where nn is a two digit integer that determines the order in which modules should be executed. For example, included with the current seccheck distribution youll find the following files in modules.d:
# ls -1 modules.d
seccheck_00_services.sh
seccheck_01_users.sh
seccheck_03_kernelcheck.sh
seccheck_05_logging.sh
seccheck_10_accessauth.sh
seccheck_99_perms.sh
seccheck_NN_template.sh.NOT
You can see that seccheck_00_services.sh will be processed before seccheck_01_users.sh, and so on. You can disable a module by renaming it something other than the convention, for example, by appending a .NOT suffix to the module filename.
A template is provided so that you can write your own seccheck modules.
By default, seccheck will write everything out to STDOUT and STDERR. If you want to redirect to an output file, just use the -o option and specify an output directory. After running the script, youll be left with a file such as:
${OUTPUT_DIR}/seccheck-< hostname >-YYYYMMDD-hhmm.log
containing the output of your modules.
Enhancements:
- Bugfixes were made in shell detection logic, for a typo in SAMBA recommendations, and in the use of "printf" instead of "echo" in the authlog recommendation.

WebIssues 0.9.1

WebIssues 0.9.1

WebIssues is a system for tracking bugs and other information across the Internet with a fast and easy to use graphical client. more>>
WebIssues is a system for tracking bugs and other information across the Internet with a fast and easy to use graphical client.

The client requires KDE version 3.4 or newer. The server requires PHP and MySQL. Both programs are licensed under the GNU General Public License.

Note that WebIssues is still in an early stage of development and a lot of work has to be done. See the Roadmap section for a list of features that will be implemented. The documentation is not complete and there is no users manual yet. However the application is designed to be as simple as possible and the target audience of this system is mostly application developers, so I think it shouldnt be a problem for anyone to play with it.

Also note that WebIssues is not going to compete with more specialized bug tracking systems like Bugzilla. It wont be effective for large development teams and also cannot be used by regular application users to submit bugs. Its mainly aimed at small teams which dont need to set up an elaborate bug tracking system and in practice often dont use one. WebIssues is easy to deploy and customize and can be used almost instantly. It is also much more comfortable to use than a web-based interface common to most existing systems.

The purpose of this application is to store information in an organized and easy to access way. It is by no means limited to bug tracking, it can be used to store requirements, tasks, features or any other kind of information. It can also be used for discussion and sharing thoughts on various topics or even organizing documents and other files.
