SRP 2.1.1
The Secure Remote Password protocol is the core technology behind the Stanford SRP Authentication Project. more>>
The Secure Remote Password protocol is the core technology behind the Stanford SRP Authentication Project. The Project is an Open Source initiative that integrates secure password authentication into existing networking applications.
The Projects primary purpose is to improve password security by making strong password authentication technology a standard part of deployed real-world systems. This is accomplished by making this technology an easy-to-use, hassle-free alternative to weak and vulnerable legacy password authentication schemes. SRP makes these objectives possible because it offers a unique combination of password security, user convenience, and freedom from restrictive licenses.
This site serves as the semi-official home of the SRP distribution, which contains secure versions of Telnet and FTP. In addition, it contains links to a number of SRP-related projects, products (both commercial and non-commercial), and research on the Web.
SRP is a secure password-based authentication and key-exchange protocol. It solves the problem of authenticating clients to servers securely, in cases where the user of the client software must memorize a small secret (like a password) and carries no other secret information, and where the server carries a verifier for each user, which allows it to authenticate the client but which, if compromised, would not allow the attacker to impersonate the client. In addition, SRP exchanges a cryptographically-strong secret as a byproduct of successful authentication, which enables the two parties to communicate securely.
Enhancements:
- (telnet) Security fixes for vulnerabilities:
- CAN-2005-0468 Multiple Telnet Client env_opt_add() Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
- CAN-2005-0469 Multiple Telnet Client slc_add_reply() Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
- (libsrp) Change default group parameter test strategy to accept only parameters on the built-in list. Fix originally suggested by Bodo Moeller, University of Calgary.
- (libsrp) Fixed big in BigIntegerCmpInt when built against OpenSSL.
- (telnet) Use header file to declare errno when available.
- (all) Added support for GNU crypto (gcrypt).

PJIRC 2.1.1
PJIRC is an IRC client, just like Opera is a HTTP client. more>>
PJIRC is an IRC client, just like Opera is a HTTP client. PJIRC is just another front-end for the well-known IRC network. Youre supposed to be familiar with the IRC concepts. If not, you should try to find more information about it before going further in this document and trying
to install and use PJIRC.
PJIRC has two distinct parts : the IRC engine and the GUI. The IRC engine handles all the boring and uninteresting stuff such as managing the connection, formatting messages and so on. You might think of it as being the "kernel". On the other hand, the GUI is responsible for displaying the result with a nice layout using plenty of CPU-consuming graphical stuff and so on.
PJIRC has several guis and you can choose what you want. You might think of them as "skins", but they are much more than that. The standard PJIRC package comes with a default GUI, the "Pixx GUI". You should find its specific documentation within this package. This document will only describe the IRC engine part.
Main features:
- Highlight support
- ASL handling
- Graphical bitmap used for smileys
- Nickname auto completion
- Nick, channel and URL catcher
- Sound support
- Multilingual support
- Esthetical options such as background image, per-channel color configuration, and so on...
- UTF-8 encoding support
- Support for external control via javascript
- "On connect" command list
- Time stamping
- Fast, light and reliable
- Free and open source

Friki 2.1.1
Friki is a small and modern Java Wiki. more>>
Friki is a small and modern Java Wiki. It is simple to deploy (just drop in to any modern servlet container), small and very easy to customise after deployment. Supports the classic wiki markup and a few common extensions.
Friki can be installed very easy
You will need a working Servlet Container or Application Server which implements at least version 2.3 of the Java Servlet API. Friki 2 has been tested on Resin 2, and Tomcat 4, and sticks to the specification, so it should work on all other compliant servers. Please let me know if you find a server it wont work on, but remember to check that you are using the correct Friki build for your system first.
All you need to do is drop the file "friki.war" into the "webapps" directory of your servlet container. Most smart containers should recognize the new application automatically, but you may need to restart the container if yours gets confused. Once the container has recognized, deployed and initialized the web application (which may take a few minutes), you should be able to view a page by appending friki to the URL of your server. For example, if I have a server at http://tomcat.efsol.com/, I can access Friki at http://tomcat.efsol.com/friki, or if you have a server at http://localhost:8080/, you can access Friki at http://localhost:8080/friki.
If this is the first time Friki has run, it will ask you for the path to the directory where it should store its pages and configuration files. If the directory you give does not exist, Friki will try and create it for you. On Windows, something like Cfriki2.1, or on Linux/Unix, something like /home/frank/friki2.1/ will probably be reasonable choices. Make sure you give it a directory that the server will be able to write to. Please take a few moments to think about this, as this is the hardest configuration to change later. If you are using a hosting company who does not provide you with access to the "expanded" web application, it may require a support call.
As soon as you have told Friki where to keep its stuff, you can view the initial pages, search, edit and create new pages to your hearts content. If you upgrade or reinstall Friki later, just tell it the same directory, and it should immediately start up with all your old pages and configurations intact.

FifoEmbed 2.1.1
FifoEmbed is a thread-safe basic queue, packet queue, and FIFO allocator. more>>
FifoEmbed is a thread-safe basic queue, packet queue, and FIFO allocator.
When programming device drivers, network stacks, and similar systems, you often need a queue and storage management. FifoEmbed provides three C abstract data types, all implemented on top of circular arrays:
- A basic queue that supports enqueue/dequeue operations, as well as "direct block access."
- A packet queue implemented on top of the basic queue that additionally provides out-of-sequence insertion and packet resequencing.
- A memory pool queue ("mpoolq") is an allocator optimized for first-in/first-out access patterns.

Libsigc++ 2.1.1
Libsigc++ is a callback framework for C++. more>>
libsigc++ implements a full callback system for use in abstract interfaces and general programming. libsigc++ is the most complete library of its kind with the ability to connect an abstract callback to a class method, function, or function object.
It contains adaptor classes for connecting dissimilar callbacks and has an ease of use unmatched by other C++ callback libraries.
Main features:
- Compile time typesafe callbacks (faster than run time checks)
- Typesafety violations report line number correctly with template names (no tracing template failures into headers)
- No compiler extensions or meta compilers required
- Proper handling of dynamic objects and signals (deleted objects will not cause seg faults)
- Extendable API at any level: signal, slot, connection and trackable
- Extensions do not require alteration of basic components
- User definable accumulators
- A variety of adaptors to change the callback signature: bind, hide, retype, compose and lambda call groups
- Various compilers and platforms are supported: gcc, cygwin, mingw32, MS .NET 2003, Sun Forte C++, Compaq C++, Intel C++
libsigc++ is known to build and work with the following compilers:
- g++ (>= 3.2, including Apple and Cygwin versions)
- Microsoft Visual C++ .NET 2003
- Intel C++ compiler
- SUN Forte C++ CC
- IBM AIX xlC
- Tru64 C++
