This CGI script acts as an HTTP or FTP proxy. Through it, you can retrieve any resource that is accessible from the server it runs on. This is useful when your own access is limited, but you can reach a server that in turn can reach others that you cant.
In addition, the user is kept as anonymous as possible from any servers. Common uses include: anonymous proxies similar to The Anonymizer, other personal uses, VPN-like functionality, and others. Its very simple to install, and very configurable.
When an HTML resource is retrieved, its modified so that all links in it point back through the same proxy, including images, form submissions, and everything else. Once youre using the proxy, you can browse normally and (almost) forget its there.
Configurable options include text-only support (to save bandwidth), selective cookie and script removal, simple ad filtering, access restriction by server, custom encoding of target URLs and cookies, and more-- there are about 45 options so far.
CGIProxy can run under mod_perl unchanged. It requires Perl 5.004 or later; Perl 5.6.1 or later may be required in future releases.
Version restrictions:
- Anonymity MAY NOT BE PERFECT!! In particular, there may be some holes where JavaScript can slip through. (If you find these or any other anonymity holes, please tell me!) For best anonymity, turn JavaScript off in your browser.
- URLs generated by JavaScript or similar mechanisms wont be re-proxyed correctly. JavaScript in general may not work as expected, especially if it accesses the network.
- If you browse to many sites with cookies, CGIProxy may drop some, but I havent seen this happen yet.
- To save CPU time, I took some shortcuts with URL-handling. I doubt these will ever affect anything, but tell me if you have problems. (The shortcuts are listed in the source code.)
- I didnt follow the spec on HTTP proxies, and there are violations of the protocol. Actually, this whole concept is a violation of the proxy model, so Im not too worried. If any protocol violations cause you problems, please let me know.
- Only HTTP and FTP are supported so far.
Enhancements:
- "javascript:" URLs are now handled better.
- rot-13 encoding of cookies now works correctly.
- "about:blank" pages no longer generate a warning page.
- The URL field in the start page now gets focus automatically.
- A few other bugfixes and workarounds are included.

SELinux Policy Editor (seedit) is a tool to make SELinux policies easy to apply. SELinux Policy Editor was originally developed by Hitachi Software.

SELinux Policy Editor is composed of Simplified Policy and tools. Simplified Policy is a policy described by Simplified Policy Description Language (SPDL) which hides the details of SELinux configurations by using name-based configration and reducing the number of permissions.

SELinux Policy Editor includes a GUI to generate SPDL so adminstrators do not have to remember syntax of the language. There are also command line tools in the package.

Following is example policy for Apache using SPDL.

As you see from the example type is not used. You can use file names and port numbers for configuration.

You can try SELinux Policy Editor on Fedora Core 5. It will not affect existing SELinux policies so it is possible to revert to the default SELinux easily.

Firebird is a relational database offering many ANSI SQL-99 features that runs on Linux, Windows, and a variety of Unix platforms.

Firebird offers excellent concurrency, high performance, and powerful language support for stored procedures and triggers. Firebird Relational Database has been used in production systems and under a variety of names since 1981.

Firebird is a commercially independent project of C and C++ programmers, technical advisors and supporters developing and enhancing a multi-platform relational database management system based on the source code released by Inprise Corp (now known as Borland Software Corp) on 25 July, 2000 under the InterBase Public License v.1.0.


New code modules added to Firebird are licensed under the Initial Developers Public License. (IDPL). The original modules released by Inprise are licensed under the InterBase Public License v.1.0. Both licences are modified versions of the Mozilla Public License v.1.1.

Installing:

In order to install the firebird version of IB 6.0 you will need to perform the following steps:

1. Get the required packages:

Get the glibc update from RedHat, the one I used
was from ftp://updates.redhat.com/7.0/i386/glibc-2.2-5.i386.rpm

Get ncurses4 from
ftp://carrier.ision.net/pub/ftp.redhat.com/i386/en/RedHat/RPMS/ncurses4-5.0-2.i386.rpm
or another redhat mirror.

Get Firebird from
ftp://firebird.sourceforge.net/pub/firebird/release/FirebirdSS-0.9-1.i386.rpm

2. Prepare the installation:

Log in as root.
Use a plain text console to do this and be sure
that all Gnome desktops are closed.
(One user reported that the Gnome desktop
(apparently ICEwm)
blocked port 3050. I could not reproduce this
here, but it seems that it uses port numbers
that arent assigned in /etc/services for own
purposes)

3. Add localhost.localdomain to /etc/hosts.equiv:
echo localhost.localdomain >>/etc/hosts.equiv

4. Change to the directory where you have placed
the downloaded packages.

5. Install the glibc update:
rpm --install --force glibc-2.2-5.i386.rpm

6. Install libncurses.so.4:
rpm --install --force ncurses4-5.0-2.i386.rpm

7. Install Firebird:
rpm --install --force FirebirdSS-0.9-1.i386.rpm

8. Add /opt/interbase/bin to your path:
You can either change /etc/profile
or do
export PATH=$PATH: /opt/interbase/bin
or
change the profiles in your users home directories

9. Check that all went well:

Read /opt/interbase/SYSDBA.password
to get your SYSDBA password.

gsec -display
should display the list of known users
(SYSDBA only after a fresh install)

isql /opt/interbase/examples/employee.gdb
SQL> SHOW TABLES;
should display all tables from this database
SQL>quit;

wxCam is a webcam application for linux. It supports video recording (in an uncompressed AVI format), snapshot taking, and some special commands for Philips webcams, so you can also use the program for astronomy purposes.

It supports video for Linux drivers, so it should work on a very large number of devices.

SGCE is a skin care management system that manages customers, treatment follow-up, product supply, clinic history, and skin status.

The project is a Web-based management system with Brazilian-Portuguese language support.

Installation:

- Load mysql structure from database-mysql.sql file
- Set up conf.inc.php

Gwenhywfar is a multi-purpose library that provides useful functions such as configuration file handling, a full featured message generation and parsing engine, and an operating system abstraction layer.
Gwenhywfar is used by Libchipcard, OpenHBCI, AqMoney, and various other projects.
Enhancements:
- This release fixes a major bug in the console GUI code and a minor one in GWEN_Logger.

JTrac project is a generic issue-tracking web-application that can be easily customized by adding custom fields and drop-downs.
Features include customizable workflow, field level permissions, e-mail integration, file attachments and a detailed history view.
Easy to Install
JTrac uses Hibernate and so it can support any database. Any servlet version 2.4 compliant container such as Apache Tomcat 5.5.X is sufficient to run JTrac. JTrac requires Java 5.0 but has minimal installation requirements otherwise.
One of the useful features of JTrac is that it is distributed as a WAR file and you can be up and running by just deploying the WAR file. The JTrac web-application checks the environment on startup and if a configured database is not detected, HSQLDB is used by default. This means that you can easily evaluate JTrac - just drop the WAR file into your servlet engine and you can immediately sign on into the application.
