PING is a live Linux ISO, based on the excellent RIP (Recovery Is Possible) distribution. PING can be burnt on a CD and booted, or integrated in a PXE / RIS environment.
Several tools have been added and written, so to make this ISO the perfect choice to backup and restore whole partitions, an easy way. It sounds like Symantec Ghost(tm), but has even better features, and is totally free.

- Backup and Restore partitions or files to a MS Network Shared directory;
- Backup and Restore the BIOS data as well;
- Either burn a bootable CD / DVD, either integrate within a PXE / RIS environment;
- Possibility to Blank local admins password;

- You dont have to run a Ghostcast server to receive images over the network.
Whats New in 2.00 RC7 Development Release:
- NTFS filesystems were not being resized to the maximum size that the partition could contain, though logging reported such.
- An occasional hang on some systems when it came to mount NTFS partitions was fixed.
- For an unknown reason, using NTFS-3G drivers rather than native kernel drivers seems to resolve the issue.
- The kernel was updated to Linux 2.6.22.4.
- Some more network and S-ATA/SCSI drivers have been compiled.

LogDog is a tool that monitors messages passing through syslogd and takes action based on key words and phrases.
LogDog has a configuration file which allows you to specify a list of key words or phrases to alert on, and a list of commands that can be run when those words are encountered.
Main features:
- Monitors syslogd messages for key words and phrases and runs system commands based on content.
- Logs all activity to a file.
- HUP signal is intercepted correctly and causes Logdog to reload its configuration and refresh all filehandles.
- Reads data from syslogd via a FIFO for efficiency and low latency alerts.
- Script returns error status to the system when an error occurs.
- Verbose and descriptive error messages if something goes wrong.

Enhancements:
- Updated the pringmsg() function. It now logs and syslogs messages in a more syslog-like format.
- Made it so it doesnt drop permissions until after it opens/writes its PID file. This means that if you *are* dropping permissions a HUP signal will likely cause logdog to exit abruptly if your PID file is not writable by Logdog.

MailManager helps teams deal with large volumes of email by allocating mail to the right person, providing tools to help answer it (prioritisation, reply templates, and a knowledge base), and allowing managers to set service levels for different types of mail and report on performance against service levels and volumes received.
MailManager is based on Zope which is required to use it. MailManager is cross-platform, but most of the testing has been under Linux and Mac OS X.

pam_krb5 is designed to allow smooth integration of Kerberos 5 passwordchecking with applications built using PAM.

Its now able to get krb5 tgt, convert krb5 tgt to krb4 tgt (krb524), get afs tokens with krb5_afslog, optinal native kth-krb4 ticket grabing.

New codes which are not in the main pam_krb5:

I wrote a new code which is usefull e.g with openssh-gssapi with token forwarding. It try to use and convert the forwarded krb5 tgt to krb4 tgt and to afs tokens. (like pam_openafs_session)

pam_krb5 can convert krb5 tgt to krb4 tgt (krb524) with Heimdal and with MIT Kerberos V.

PDFMap is a Python library which helps you create of high quality maps in PDF format. Objects of any type (either shapes or images) can be placed on a map and scaled and rotated to reflect their original dimensions and orientation. You can make each object clickable in Adobe Acrobat Reader (e.g., to access a Web-enabled application from which youve extracted the data used to create the map).

It serves successfully in drawing archaelogical objects on cave maps, but as the examples may show you, it can also draw things at a very high scale, e.g. an Europe or World map.

Each map can have an optional rasterized background which can be rotated automatically if it is not North oriented.

PDFMap can automatically draw objects on each map. Objects can be of any type (e.g. City, School, Archaeological objects, whatever you like), and are represented by shapes or images, scaled to the actual objects dimensions and orientation. Each object can also have an associated url which will render the object clickable in tools like Adobe Acrobat Reader (NB : the clickable area is always a rectangle of the actual objects dimensions, not of the representing shapes dimensions), the use of this feature depends entirely on your imagination : draw maps from a database and link back to a web enabled application which manipulates this database is just an example (and an interesting one at that, just
believe me).

PDFMap uses two types of input files :

Configuration files :

Those are used to tell PDFMap which shape or image should represent each type of object, as well as set different parameters for this objects type :pen thickness, colors, minimal and maximal size, etc...

Data files :

Those are used to feed PDFMap with lists of objects to draw. They are generally the result of an ASCII export from your favorite spreadsheet or relational database management system.

The tests/ subdirectory contains sample configuration and data files which are well commented. Read them and run the tests programs to learn how PDFMap works.

debsync is a Python command line tool which helps to synchronise the installed packages lists on several existing Debian GNU/Linux machines.

debsync gets a list of installed packages from a master host, and installs or removes packages on several hosts to match the masters package list.

debsync can do its work either over ssh (default) or rsh.

debsync is different from fai (Full Automated Installation) because AFAIK fai works with machines you plan to install automatically and identically, while debsyncs goal is to update a bunch of existing and different machines to the level at which they both have the same packages installed as those installed on a master host.
