x project is a tool for Unix-like systems that takes all the hassle out of extracting archives. Heres an example of how you use it:
$ x linux-2.6.10.tar.bz2
Thats basically the same thing as:
$ tar -jxf linux-2.6.10.tar.bz2
So why use x?
Main features:
- Handles many archive types: You only need to remember one simple command to extract tar, zip, cpio, deb, and rpm files. If theyre compressed, x will take care of that for you, too.
- Keeps everything organized: x will make sure that archives are extracted into their own dedicated directories.
- Sane permissions: x makes sure you can read and write all the files you just extracted, while leaving the rest of the permissions intact.
- Recursive extraction: x can find archives inside the archive and extract those too.

X-Files is a graphical file management program. more>>
X-Files is a graphical file management program for Unix/X-Window environment. It was inspired by the Amiga program DirWork.
This application differs slightly from the main stream file managers in that it has always only one window. On top (or bottom) of the window you have ActionbuttonsTM -area. Other main areas are the two directory listings for file related actions. You can use quick pop-up menu for basic operations. File extensions can be configured to launch any program you desire for that file.
The appearance and functionality can be fully configured according to your taste using the built-in editors.
Tested on: Intel Linux, DEC Alpha, SGI, HP-UX, Solaris
(Should work on any Unix-machine running Tcl/Tk.)

x-Desktop 1.5
x-Desktop is a development of browser-only application frontends. more>>
This project comprises a library for developing thin client application frontends using a browser. It helps developers creating (neat) application interfaces (GUI) for inter/intra- and extranet applications.
Main features:
- 100% Browser based & no plugins required
- Supports all Operating Systems providing a DOM2 / Javascript Support Browser
- Simple, well documented Object Interface
- Customizable desktop & window skins
Following Browsers are currently supported:
- Mozilla 1.2+
- Firefox
- K-Meleon 0.7+
- Netscape 7.0+
- Avant 7.0+
- Microsoft IE6.0+
- Galeon 1.2+
- OSX: Camino 0.7+
A note to Konqueror / Safari users: We do respect the work of the Open Source community, especially the K-Teams. However we did not have the time to dig too much into why Konqueror does not work as the others. But because Mozilla 1.x does work and comes with most Linux boxes, we focused on development of the supported browsers, rather than finding the key issues of this problem.
A note to Opera fans: Unfortunately the css and javascript support of all current versions does not allow many operations we do need (like dynamic clipping etc.) We did hope that the upcoming Opera 7.x version can be included as well. But so it is not the case.
Despite the success of NS 4.x it is clearly in excess of age. Therefore we are sorry to inform that NS 4.x or any prior versions of above mentioned browser cannot be used. In addition, the javascript engine of NS7.x seems to be very slow when moving or resizing desktop windows.

HistView 0.1.3
HistView takes an ASCII changelog as input and outputs a formatted HTML page. more>>
HistView application takes an ASCII changelog as input and outputs a formatted HTML page.
When developing some piece of software, one usually records its development history in an ASCII file, preceding all changes with a "hint" of the kind of change - such as an "+" for a new addition, or a "!" for a bug fix. After a while, one decides to release the package. And a while later the question arises, how to present the latest changes to users who wish to see the list of changes first to decide whether its worth to update. At this moment, one can just place the plain text file somewhere accessible on the net - but wouldnt it look smarter to have it formatted as a nice HTML document? If you would like this, but dont want to waste time rewriting the history in HTML, HistView ist for you: it just reads in the history file, and formats it in HTML. Provided you use a style similiar to what I do.

X/OS Linux 4.0
X/OS Linux is a GNU/Linux distribution for business and enterprise users. more>>
X/OS Linux is derived from the Free/Open Source rpm packages of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (RHEL4) under the requirements set forth by their trademark policy.
X/OS has spent considerable effort to avoid using Red Hats trademarks in any way that would imply an association with or sponsorship by Red Hat.
After some delay, the final release of X/OS Linux 4.0 is now available to the public.
The X/OS Linux team has spent considerable effort to assure the label enterprise-grade Linux for this milestone release. With the simultaneous availability of X/OS Linux 4.0 for x86 and x86_64 processor architectures, it delivers the latest best-of-breed Free and Open Source software for both 32- and 64-bit platforms.
Highlights include the 2.6 Linux kernel featuring numerous enhancements over the previous 2.4 version, Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) to apply more granular security policies, improved storage capabilities supporting file systems of up to 8TB and more.
The Global File System (GFS) and Cluster Suite software is included in this release to ease the task of creating and managing advanced cluster configurations, and is available as an extra option during installation. This powerful set of tools provides seamless scalability of applications such as databases, web servers and high-performance computing clusters with GFS enabling nodes to simultaneously read and write to a single shared filesystem.
Next to providing an advanced server platform, X/OS Linux 4.0 adds various enhancements to the desktop increasing usability with greatly improved office productivity tools, plug-and-play USB device recognition and power management supporting the ACPI standard.
In addition to compatibility with the de facto distribution for deploying Linux in the enterprise, X/OS Linux strides to include various other useful packages and tools that conform to the standard for mature and robust enterprise-grade software. One example is Xfce, an extra option in addition to Gnome and KDE, offering a light-weight desktop environment suited for use on low-end or thin client systems.

Open Simp-X 2002 Beta
Open Simp-X provides a scalable Internet management platform. more>>
Open Simp-X provides a scalable Internet management platform.
Open Simp-X is a powerful Internet platform for everyone, attempting to change programming for the Internet with sharing database information. It strives for scalablility, reliability, and ease of use.
The platform consists of a client/server pair. Security is a top priority, and data transfers are encrypted. Open Simp-X achieves scalability through plugins.
Plugins can collect information, manipulate it, and send it back to the database. Writing plugins is easy since they do not have to worry about how to send or receive their information, and can focus on manipulating it.
Open Simp-X can be set up to retreive data through a LAN or through a Web server.

Gem Drop X 0.9
Gem Drop X is a fast-paced puzzle game where its your job to clear the screen of gems before they squash you! more>>
Gem Drop X is a fast-paced puzzle game where its your job to clear the screen of gems before they squash you! (Youre at the bottom, theyre at the top, and they keep coming!)
Gem Drop X was directly ported from the original GemDrop for the Atari 8-bit, which was based on "Magical Drop III" by SNK.
You grab gems (up to 10) of the same color and use them to knock more gems off the screen. Match 3 or more of the same color in a column and >BAM!< they explode! Any adjacent gems of the same color also explode, causing a chain reaction that might cover the entire screen!
The more gems that disappear with one shot, the higher the score you get!
Main features:
- Special objects, which help (or hinder) you on the way. Activate them by including them in a match:
Bombs - stop the chain reaction and destory any gems on either side and above and blow it.
Wildcards - cause more chain reactions with adjacent pieces.
Stopwatches - freezes the gems so no more appear from the top for a few seconds, giving you precious time with which to clear more of the screen!
- Progressive levels. More gems when you start, and less time before new ones appear.
- Expert levels. Levels 15 to 20 have twice as many different colored gems as levels 1 to 14, making it even more difficult to get matches!
- Play with keyboard, joystick, or mouse.
- Beautiful graphics, most 3D rendered
- Stereo music and sound effects.
- Includes source code for both Gem Drop X (in C, using libSDL), as well as the original "Gem Drop" code (in Action!, for the Atari 8bit)!
