GMime is a set of utilities for parsing and creating messages using the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (MIME).

As a developer and user of Electronic Mail clients, I had come to realize that the vast majority of E-Mail client solutions had less-than-satisfactory MIME implementations. More often than not these E-Mail clients created broken MIME messages and/or would incorrectly try to parse a MIME message thus subtracting from the full benefits that MIME was meant to provide. GMime is meant to address this issue by following the MIME specification while also providing programmers with an extremely easy to use application programming interface.

db2dot 0.2.2

db2dot 0.2.2

db2dot reverse engineers an existing database and produces an ER diagram in dot format. more>>
db2dot reverse engineers an existing database and produces an ER diagram in dot format.

The dot file can be fed through graphvizs dot to produce a pretty ER diagram. The diagram includes tables and relationships derived from db meta-data and foreign key constraints.

What format is the output?

It generates a dot file which can be turned into a diagram with the graphviz utility.

What database servers will it work with?

It has only been tested with MySQLs JDBC driver, but it uses only
generic java.sql.* classes so it should work with any JDBC driver which is
sufficiently advanced.

What license is the code released under?

db2dot is released under the GPL v2.0 license.

How do I build the source?

Run: ant build jar

What are the command line arguments?

The command line arguments may be in any order, the following are required:

driver=< JDBCDriver class >
url=< db connection url >
user=< db user name >
pass=< db password >

The following are optional:

+showRelations
+showColumns

Quarantine firewall 0.2.1a

Quarantine firewall 0.2.1a

Quarantine firewall is yet another firewall that has masquerade, type-of-service, and traffic shaping features. more>>
Quarantine firewall is yet another firewall that has masquerade, type-of-service, and traffic shaping features.

Simply do make install. It will copy the module files, qconfig, qmodule and a sample configuration file to /etc/quarantine.d. quarantine and netrouter then goes to /etc/init.d.

The configuration file /etc/quarantine.d/rc.quarantine can be edited manually (see README file) or via the configuration utility qconfig.

The thing youll have to do is creating a symlink in /etc/rc.d/rc[whatever].d named S99netrouter and K00netrouter pointing at /etc/init.d/netrouter.

The firewall script (quarantine) is designed to get the hosts IP adress when connecting to the internet. Youll need to put a /etc/init.d/quarantine start in the /etc/ppp/ip-up file - also insert a /etc/init.d/quarantine stop in the /etc/ppp/ip-down script file.

Xinity 2.2 RC1

Xinity 2.2 RC1

Xinity project is a powerful web content management system (CMS). more>>
Xinity project is a powerful web content management system (CMS).
Xinity is a powerful web content management system (CMS). You can build complex web sites with content edited and maintained by non-programmers. It is user-friendy because it eliminates the flexibility gap: in common CM Systems the editor loses the more flexibility the more the programmer gains and vice versa.
In Xinity the programmer has the power to decide how much flexibility the editor has. There are no limitations given by the system.
The editor edits his content in WYSIWYG, and there is no need to battle with or system-specific variables. Xinity is a highly scalable system with a lot of customization work to do with each installtion, and is not suitable for a quick test run.
On the other hand there is a generic site architecture that comes with the base distribution, so you can set up you own Xinity web site in 30 minutes.

WmG 2.0.2

WmG 2.0.2

WmG is a dockapp plugin for Gaim. more>>
WmG applet is a dockapp plugin for Gaim. That is, once the plugin is started a dockapp appears, which can be conviniently dragged to the windowmaker dock.
The dockapp shows the top 3 buddies from Gaim, sorted by whatever algorithm was selected in the Gaim preferences. Clicking either of the buddies causes a new conversation window to be created for that buddy (unless one already exists, in which case the existing one will be used).
Additionally, the dockapp features a scrolling message thingy, which displays events occurring, such as buddies logging on and off, becoming idle, going away or coming back.
WmG was selected as the name of this program, because WmGaim was already spoken for.
Version restrictions:
- Unloading the plugin unfortunately requires a restart of gaim.
- No protocol mini-icons are available for protocols other than msn and icq
Enhancements:
- This release fixes compilation issues with the latest Gaim betas, and introduces some graphical representation of buddy status for ICQ buddies.

GGI 2.2.2

GGI 2.2.2

GGI stands for General Graphics Interface, and it is a project that aims to develop a reliable, stable and fast graphics system. more>>
GGI stands for General Graphics Interface, and it is a project that aims to develop a reliable, stable and fast graphics system that works everywhere. We want to allow any program using GGI to run on any platform, requiring at most a recompile.
Historically, GGI was developed in order to provide a unified interface to manage access to graphics hardware under Linux, to avoid the conflicts and instability arising from the direct access of hardware by competing graphics systems such as X and svgalib.
GGI project is now focussed on developing a set of portable user-space libraries, with an array of different backends or targets (eg. framebuffer, X, quartz, directx).
While GGI no longer aims to manage direct access to graphics hardware, we provide a target to use the interfaces provided by our associated KGI Project[->], which is concerned with providing the necessary kernel level support (protection, virtualization and abstraction) through a fast, secure and portable Kernel Graphics Interface.
Developed in a professional manner, the clean design, stability and scalability of GGI make it excellent in embedded, production and research environments, and it is user-supported with complete source.
The GGI project provides various libraries, of which the two most fundamental are LibGII (for input-handling) and LibGGI (for graphical output). All other packages add features to these core libraries, and so depend on one or both of them; for a more in-depth explanation of package categories, see the longer introduction to GGI.
Enhancements:
- Bootstrapping (aka running autogen.sh) now works with automake 1.10.
- display-lcd823, display-vgl, display-tile, display-quartz, crossblit, and generic blitting operations have been fixed.

PHP SQLDiff 2.2

PHP SQLDiff 2.2

PHP SQLDiff is a Web application that shows the difference between two SQL database tables. more>>
PHP SQLDiff is a Web application that shows the difference between two SQL database tables.

If you manage your database tables like I do, you also make copious copies of the tables. When I go to make any serious change to a table, I copy the table to another database and make my changes there. In other cases my users make changes to their tables using SQLView. Of course, I keep backups of their tables elsewhere.

We know what we want, but its not always an easy thing to get. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Just as with any diff, the more that changed, the harder it is to see what really happened. SQLDiff provides scrolled sets of changed rows, but any way you cut it, a million changes is beyond what anyone can reasonably manage.

The tables should have a primary key. SQLDiff does allow you to specify the column to use for the comparator. This means, however, that if your tables do not have the same primary key, then SQLDiff will not actually allow you to make changes. If you choose the wrong comparator column or the data for the column is not unique, you can serious mess up your tables.

The two tables must be basically the same. That is, they must have the same column names and the datatypes for the columns must match. SQLDiff can compare tables that do not have exactly the same columns, but youll have to choose what columns to compare. It will also pretend that columns of the same name, but with a different datatype are the same. This is not always true, so you should be particularly careful when making changes to unlike tables. In any case, the more the tables differ, the more differences are found until you can hardly figure out what happened.

Having said that, there are times when the change is that youve added or deleted a column or two. So SQLDiff will detect this and let you choose what columns you want to compare. In any case you still must have primary keys that match.

Really really large tables can take a really really long time to diff. In order to do the compare, we must read the entire table and that can be pretty hard on your systems. If youve got a few tens of thousands of rows, SQLDiff should be satisfactory, but if youve got a few million rows, well... good luck. Theres a good chance PHP will run out of memory and depending on your web server configuration, you might not get anything back so you can tell whats going on. In general you will not be happy when comparing really large tables.

Once the diff is known, you can make changes so certain (or all) rows or columns get updated in the master table from the modified table. Before actually commiting a database change, use the new Show SQL button and see if the SQL is reasonable.

Databases are seldom static and SQLDiff does not even pretend to protect you. If you do a diff on a pair of tables and one of then changes afterwards and then you try to synchronize them with SQLDiff... well, you could be surprised.

unixODBC 2.2.11

unixODBC 2.2.11

The unixODBC Project goals are to develop and promote unixODBC to be the definitive standard for ODBC on non MS Windows platform more>>
The unixODBC Project goals are to develop and promote unixODBC to be the definitive standard for ODBC on non MS Windows platforms. This is to include GUI support for both KDE and GNOME.
ODBC is an open specification for providing application developers with a predictable API with which to access Data Sources. Data Sources include SQL Servers and any Data Source with an ODBC Driver.
The two major advantages of choosing to code an application to the ODBC API are;
Portable Data Access Code
The ODBC API, as outlined by X/Open and ISO, is availible on all major platforms. Microsoft platforms include many enhancements to this specification; these enhancements are also supported by unixODBC
Dynamic Data Binding
This allows the user or the system administrator to easily configure an application to use any ODBC compliant data source. This is perhaps the single biggest advantage of coding an application to the ODBC API and to purchase these applications.
Dyamic binding allows the end-user to pick a data source, ie an SQL Server, and use it for all data applications without having to worry about recompiling the application.
The unixODBC team has reached this objective by providing the best technical solution to ODBC demands on the Linux platform. Also; ALL unixODBC development is and will be distributed under GPL or LGPL. The LGPL on libs will ensure that commercial solutions will be able to utilize unixODBC.
Enhancements:
- Fix a couple of typo errors in postgres driver and odbctest
- Fix problem where ini files could be truncated under heavy load
- Fix potential hang with FILEDSNs if the connect string included a DSN= entry as well
- Dont save the SAVEFILE attribute in the filedsn.
