ChangeWallpaper application has two scripts for change your background in Gnome, from a Folder with several images or from art.gnome.org

This application is two scripts. One of them changes the wallpaper of your Gnome desktop from a Folder of your election. This script hence the necessary of wallpapers on that folder.

The second one, and for me the best, change your background with a random one selected from art.gnome.org.

For both of them you must select the softlink that its generated the first time you run it, and the add the script to you session manager, with this every time you boot your PC and log into your account you will see a new background.

Wallpaper Tray is a wallpaper utility that sits on the GNOME panel.

The project gives you a random wallpaper from a chosen directory at logon, on a timer, and allows you to select a new wallpaper at random from its menu.

UPDATE: I have had reports from users on Ubuntu that Wallpaper Tray is broken, something about the config dialog not appearing. It works fine on FC5. It also works on FC6. I suspect that the Ubuntu package needs rebuilding, hopefully this will happen for 0.5.3.

From here on in, I wont be touch packages, I will support the Autopackage project, which is designed to support the distribution of non core programs like mine.
he Applet lets you add directories, wallpapers are then randomly selected at login or at a given interval. You can also search your wallpaper collection, and delete wallpapers you dont like anymore.

Wallpaper Tray, as the name suggests, used to be live in the Notification Area. The Notification Area was never really meant for programs such as this, so the latest release uses the Gnome Panel. The last of 0.4.x series is still available however, for those that would rather stick with this way of working.

Wallpaper Control is a graphical wallpaper manager.

Wallpaper Control is a non-window manager-specific wallpaper manager for the X Window System.

It aims to be a full featured utility for managing and setting your images you use as wallpaper.

Features include a preview window, directory listing, and deletion of graphics from hard drive.

Native Resolution Fix for Widescreen Monitors is a little script that changes your widescreen monitor resolution in one click.
It couldnt get much more simpler than this little script/command. Anyhow, theres a few apps that would screw up my resolution after they exited and rather than look into it at the moment, I just googled to see if there was a quick command to execute that would change the resolution. So I found it, added that command to my KDE menu, then made a shortcut to it (ctrl + r) so I have a push-button resolution fix, which I recommend you do as its quite handy.
Anyhow, place Native Resolution Fix.desktop on your desktop but DO NOT USE it if you have a monitor with a smaller resolution. Instead, you can edit it and change the resolution to what you like and use the "-r" command to set the hertz, which will use one of the rates set in your xorg.conf.
Enhancements:
- NOTE: Please edit if your monitor doesnt support the 1680x1050 resolution in this script or do not use it.
- I am not responsible if your monitor, in a rare case, gets messed up by you using a resolution in which your monitor cant support.

Wallpapoz tool enables your Gnome desktop to have different wallpapers for different workspaces or virtual desktops. It offers quick orientation cues where you are. The other reason is to increase eye candy. In this version, it support randomization.

It means you can group your wallpapers into spesific workspaces. You can manage it so that your cartoon wallpapers will be randomize for certain times in workspace one, your nature wallpapers in workspace two, your adult wallpapers in workspace three and your Gnome wallpapers in workspace four.

There are two programs. One is the daemon that will monitor your desktop continuously. So when you change workspace or specified time has passed, the daemon wil change your desktop wallpaper.

The daemon it self reads your wallpapers list and preferation then acts according to that. The configuration file is written in xml format. Of course you can edit with any text editor but that is not convenient.

To make it easy, there is another program to edit this configuration file. Click the button, find the wallpapers that you would like to put into spesific workspace. Please see the screenshot to see how it works.

The daemon program name is daemon_wallpapoz.py. You need to add this program into Gnome start up programs list if you want every time you log into Gnome session, your Gnome desktop will have the ability to have different wallpapers for different workspaces. But first you need to make the configuration file by using program that called wallpapoz.py.

TinyMe project exists to create a remaster of PCLinuxOS 2007 that will be quite slimmed down. The target is to get a functioning ~150MB ISO image that can provide a base installation for other MyPCLinuxOS projects, development, playing around, installation to old computers, where a minimal installation is all thats needed, and any other situations where a tiny Linux installation is required or desirable.

Enhancements:
- Fixed most open bugs. Only remaining major open bug (in my opinion) is that TinyMe still doesnt auto mount removable media.
- I switched to GDM. This allows us greater flexibility with our login manager. Also, it enables Shutdown and Reboot options on logout.
- AbiWord was installed, with all the plugins your heart desires. Create and edit ODT, DOC, WPD, and many other formats.
- Idesk now handles the desktop instead of PCManFM.
- Enabeled LXPanel transparency.
- Added Grafburn for burning CDs and DVDs. Thanks to Nathan Fisher of Grafpup for Grafburn.
- Created Welcome page. Fire up Opera to see it. (Did I mention Opera handles web browsing, mail, Bittorrent, and IRC chat?)
- Conky is a SuperKaramba-like desktop monitoring applet which has been added. GKrellm was fired. :-)
- Do you like music? Audacious was added. Audacious is a lot like WinAmp and you can use WinAmp themes on it.
- MEdit proved to be somewhat buggy. Although I rather liked it, I opted to use SciTE instead. Enjoy.
- Changed Mrxvt to the default terminal. Mrxvt is a tabbed terminal, plus it has some pretty cool transparency.
- Galculator is a quite small calculator added to test 5.
- Xarchiver has been added for its wonderous abilities to open just about any compressed archive, including RPMs and ISOs.
- MtPaint was added. MtPaint is a very basic picture editor. You can also use MtPaint to take a screenshot.
- XKill has been added and a menu entry created for those balky programs which hang on you.
- Tweaked overall look n feel some more. Added 2 wallpapers (okay, its 1 wallpaper; 1 is 4:3, the other 16:10)

Webilder aims to be a complete solution for Webshots users who use Linux (and possibly Mac OS X soon).
Webilder enables you to download photos from Webshots website into your photo collection. The package includes a GNOME panel applet that can notify you whenever new daily photos are ready to be downloaded.
Webilder project can also change your wallpaper regularly. The applet can even download new photos automatically.
