Pingmaster theme periodically pings selected computer. more>>
Pingmaster theme periodically pings selected computer. It is done each 15 minutes (.theme file, line 2, interval in milisecs). Here, as you can see, my theme benefits from program "ping" (.theme file, last line).

So you can specifity computer you want to ping by any way which ping understands. Theme also benefits from programs "grep", "awk", and "date". Last one i have mentioned is used on line 12 in .theme file. There, you can change format of time displayed.

Themes look is made to fit "Ricardos kiramba debian" theme, which you can get at http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=30686.

Remember you must have programs mentioned above.

YES Linux 2.2.3

YES Linux 2.2.3

YES Linux is a server appliance for small and medium size networks to quickly and easily build an Internet presence. more>>
YES Linux is an idea started by Arthur Copeland, CEO of Saphari.com. The idea was to build a low cost suite of products and services that could enable a Mom and Pop Store (MaPs) to quickly and easily build an internet presence.
The project was understood that not all MaPs need to have an internet presence, thus the suite would also have to work while not being connected to the internet. To the MaPs, it should be transparent.
Thus, YourESale was born... and the rest is history. MaPs - MaPs are defined as companies that have between 1 and 20 employees or total gross revenue of less than $200,000.00 per year.
YES Linux is a server appliance for small and medium size networks to quickly and easily build an Internet presence. It completely installs in under 10 minutes and 2 screens.
It features a secure Web server, a secure email server with Web-based email, a firewall, spam filtering, WebDAV support, an FTP server, an SSH server, a PostgreSQL database, the Resin J2EE server, Java, Apache Ant, PHP 5, Autonomous Backups, and complete Web-based administration.

SMC anti-spam milter 1.7

SMC anti-spam milter 1.7

SMC anti-spam milter is an Sendmail plugin, that is designed to significantly reduce the amount of junk email you receive. more>>
SMC non-context E-mail filter - is an software application designed to significantly reduce the amount of SPAM/UCE (junk-mail) you receive. SMC uses a dynamic local and DNS based remote "whitelists" (for known/trusted senders), DNS based "blacklists" (for undesired senders), and an original "autoauthentication" system (for unknown, but legitimate senders).
In additional SMC has a set of useful features which allows to preserve mail recipients from dangerous message attachments, HTML includes. SMC is an Sendmail milter (plugin), which stops the junk-mail without receiving one.
SMC uses 3 original algorithms, one of which is "Check relay by NS" simulates a dynamical whitelist and will always accept the messages from mail systems satisfying to following conditions:
1. Mail domain name (the host part of the senders e-mail address) must have an MX records;
2. Mail domain name and the connection host address must be resolved;
3. Connection host must be listed at the one of nameservers which hold the senders mail domain name.
The second from the developed algorithms is a "check delays" algorithm which is based on statistical check of delivery delays, generated by a [tempfail] return code, that allows to exclude a direct receiving of a mail, which not passed through the standard mail server.
NOTE: Using this feature the delivery of the mail from unknown, but legitimate senders will be delayed for a count of 10-minutes checks, which setted by the "maxcount" configuration parameter.
And the third of original algorithms is "auto-authentication" algorithm: The sender of a "mail contact" (sender-recipient pair) means as authenticated (whitelisted) if the filters statistics module has registered the both of a sended forward (request) and a recieved backward (reply) messages of this contact. The messages from the such authenticated senders will never be delayed by the previous "check delay" algorithm.
Enhancements:
- CLOSE_WAIT problems have been solved (a critical bug).
- There is a critical bugfix to prevent DNS storms.
- All of the resolver functions use the local resolver context.
- Automake and autoconf support have been added.

Naughts and Crosses a simple tic-tac-toe game - with a twist.

This is a simple tic-tac-toe game, written in C++ for the console. Its a very simple affair, and only suited to the odd five minutes, but has a fully functional one-player mode (which I have tried to make neither too easy nor too hard) and offers the ability to modify the board size.

Evolution Jescs is the Evolution Connector for Sun Java Enterprise System Calendar Server (SJESCS), which adds support for SJESCS 5.1 and above to Evolution.

This connector supports the WCAP (Web Calendar Access Protocol) 2.0, 3.0, 3.1.

How to setup a JESCS account?

Now it is integrated into "Mail Accounts" under menu "Edit-->Preferences". Click "Add" button to bring up the account setup widzard. In "Identity" page, please input your Full Name and Email Address. In "Receiving Email" page, choose "Sun Calendar WCAP" as the Server Type. Input Host and Username here.

If your server listens to another port instead of the default one (80 for http, 143 for https), please input Host in the "Host:Port" format, such as "calendar.sun.net:8080". For "Use Secure Connection", please choose "Never" for http and "Always" for https.

In "Receiving Options" page, if you want to poll the server for new events and tasks at a different interval than the default 30 minutes, please check the checkbox and choose a interval. Please note that a small interval setting will impact the performance of the connector. If you are sure you are the only one accessing your calendar, you can set the interval to a very large number.

The "Sending Email" page actually is useless for the connector. You can just input anything here so that you can go forward.

In "Account Management" page, please enter your account name here. Then you can finish your JESCS account setting.

SmokePing 2.1.0

SmokePing 2.1.0

SmokePing is a network latency monitor similar to MRTG. more>>
SmokePing is a delux latency measurement tool. SmokePing project can measure, store and display latency, latency distribution and packet loss. SmokePing uses RRDtool to maintain a longterm datastore and to draw pretty graphs, giving up to the minute information on the state of each network connection.
SmokePing uses latency measurement plugins for seamless extendability.
SmokePing comes with a smart alarm system. Apart from simple threshold alarms, you have the option of defining latency or loss patterns and use them to trigger alarms.
This allows you to define a pattern which would generate a single alarm when the loss goes from below 1% to over 20% and stays over 20% for more than 10 minutes. The advantage of this approach is the virtual elimination of duplicate alarms which you would get with a simple threshold based system.
Alarms can be sent to a mail address or a pager and if you want you can also start an external script to handle the alarms.
Complex Alarms can be written as plug-ins.
SmokePing can also deal with machines who frequently change their IP address by allowing the remote host to call SmokePings attention to its new IP address. In such a setup SmokePing monitors also for how long the remote system could keep its IP address.
To ensure that it is not suddenly monitoring the wrong host, SmokePing further tries to fingerprint each of its Dynamic IP targets via SNMP.
SmokePing is written in Perl. It consists of a daemon process responsible for data collection and a CGI script presenting the data on the web.
The CGI script uses SpeedyCGI to achieve mod_perl like performance without the need to deploy mod_perl on your web server. SmokePing sports a plug-in architecture to easily add new latency measurement capabilities to SmokePing. SmokePing works happily on all Unix platforms.
Enhancements:
- The scoreboard has a list of hottest targets.
- Echoping V6 compatibility.
- Mail templates.
- A failover server for alert email messages.
- Many new plugins.
- Several bugfixes.

WiFiAdmin 0.0.4

WiFiAdmin 0.0.4

WiFiAdmin is an environment for the administration of Linux WiFi hotspots. more>>
Wifiadmin is a free php graphical interface to mainly hostap, and wireless tools in general, although most of this code has been debugged only under a hostap environment.

Please submit errors found when running with other linux wireless drivers, that support wireless extensions. We are trying so that wifiadmin is as self-configuring and distribution-independent as possible.

Installation:

1) Decompress in a directory reachable from your web server(htdocs), keeping in mind the directory structure.
2) If you disable mysql usage($use_mysql variable in the include/config.php file):

Give write access to the user that you are running PHP, to the file include/passwd .For example, from wifiadmin root directory type chown apache:/ include; chown apache:/ include/passwd, depending on your local configuration.

If you enable mysql usage:

Within the directory, youll find a a file named "mysql.sql". Contained in this file are the SQL statements necessary to create the WiFiAdmin database. Log onto your database server under the root account (or other account allowed to create databases), create a database for wifiadmin, and then run the contents of mysql.sql to create the tables and initial data.

For example:

mysqladmin -u [user] -p create [database-name]
mysql -u [user] -p [database-name] < mysql.sql

Or you can use phpMyAdmin to do the same.

In either case, you have to edit the include/config.php file and edit the following variables:

$USERS_DBHOST = "localhost"; host where mysql is running
$USERS_DB = "wifiadmin"; [database-name]
$USERS_DBUSER = "wifiadmin"; [user]
$USERS_DBPASS = "wifiadmin"; the password of [user]

3) Change your sudo configuration. Wifiadmin needs superuser access to specific executables. For the moment, this is done by giving superuser access to the user apache runs with, using the sudo mechanism. You can find out the user that apache runs with, by:

ps aux | grep http or ps aux | grep apache

You should use the visudo executable, or manually edit the file sudoers. Add the following lines, replace www-data with the user apache runs with.

# Cmnd alias specification
Cmnd_Alias WIFIADMIN = /sbin/iwconfig, /sbin/ifconfig, /sbin/iwlist,
/sbin/iwpriv, /sbin/route, /usr/bin/host, /usr/sbin/arp

# User privilege specification
www-data ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: WIFIADMIN

Change the paths if iwconfig, ifconfig etc executables are located
elsewhere in your system.

WARNING
This configuration, gives superuser priviledges for the specific commandsto the user your web server runs with. This might have implications on system security.

4) Add the following lines at the end of your crontab (you can use the crontab -e command, or edit your /etc/crontab directly)

*/2 * * * * root php /path/to/wifiadmin/create-update-rrds.php > /dev/null 2>&1
*/10 * * * * root php /path/to/wifiadmin/create_graphs.php > /dev/null 2>&1

The first line creates(for the first time) and updates the rrd databases. The second
creates the updated png graphs from the databases. RRD updates happen every 2 minutes, and graphs are crated every 10 minutes.

Change these values to suit your needs. Mind space characters from copy-pasting into your crontab!!

5) Wifiadmin can send emails to confirm new user accounts, or remind user passwords.
If $send_emails = true; in config.php file, wifiadmin will send emails.
If you set $confirm_new_account = false; while $send_emails = true;, wifiamdin will
send emails to remind passwords, but no email confirmation will be needed in order
to set up an account.

6) Fire up your favorite browser, and point to http://target-hostname/wifiadmin/
ATTENTION: WIFIADMIN HAS A DEFAULT ADMIN PASSWORD. Change the admin
password as soon as possible, by logging in as user admin with password wifiadmin.

Go to user management, choose admin, and type a different password. You can LOOSE complete network access to your box if you are careless enough...
