TK-10 0.1

TK-10 0.1

TK10 is a Bottlerocket GUI for Linux. more>>
TK10 is a Bottlerocket GUI for Linux. TK-10 is written in Tcl/Tk.

I wrote TK10 because I wanted a GUI application to control my X10 devices, and I wanted it to look and function like the HR12A controller that comes with the X10 Firecracker kit.

If you are familiar with the HR12A then you will find TK10 very easy to use. The on/off/dim buttons, device letter dial, and device number range switch work just like in the HR12A. You can even edit the device labels!

Installation:

To install TK10 the easy way, just run the install.sh script as root.

Alternatively, to install TK10 manually, do the following:

1. Copy the file tk10 to somewhere in your PATH (e.g. /usr/bin)
2. mkdir -p /usr/share/tk10-0.1
3. Copy the remaining files to /usr/share/tk10-0.1
(Note: if you can not create the directory /usr/share/tk10-0.1, then
pick another directory and modify the line below in tk10:
set MAINDIR "/usr/share/tk10-0.1"
to use the directory of your choice.)
4. Copy the file tk10.1 to somewhere in your MANPATH (e.g. /usr/man/man1).

TK10 assumes that your Tk interpreter is /usr/bin/wish. You may have to modify the first line of the tk10 file to reflect the correct location (e.g. #!/usr/local/bin/wish).

An optional icon (tk10.xpm) is included for use with window managers that support icons.

After installation, just run the command tk10.

bbconf 1.10

bbconf 1.10

bbconf is a GUI configurator for the Blackbox window manager. more>>
Welcome to bbconf, the all-in-one blackbox configuration tool. Never heard of blackbox before? Well, lets just say that its the best Window Manager for X thats out "there" in our humble opinion.

Simply put, this little utility here has such lofty goals as being the one place where you can configure anything and everything you need to that has to do with blackbox.

bbconf aims to do that through the use of plugins--plugins which allow you to configure anything you wish about blackbox or its helper applications such as bbkeys, bbpager, bbapm, bbmail, bbpal, etc.

bbconf is distributed with 4 plugins that allow you to configure blackboxs keybindings, blackboxs styles/themes, and your blackbox menus and submenus.

The architecture of the plugins themselves are very simple and elegant, thanks to xOrs work--making it easy for anyone else to add onto the distributed plugins to make it easy to configure whatever else you want to for your blackbox/X sessions.

bbconf has grown from two previous gui configuration tools, namely bbkeysconf (the gui blackbox keygrabber configurator) and toolbox (the gui blackbox style/theme editor).

But thanks to xOrs help, bbconf has become far more than the combination of those prior two tools. It has taken the place of them (read: no more development will be done on bbkeysconf or toolbox), and has the capability to do FAR much more.

bbconf is written in Qt and in some spots, uses raw Xlib functions to do what it needs to do. Qt Designer was used to help in laying out the forms and base classes--and makes the job of redesign/re-layout MUCH easier.

To run bbconf, youll need Qt libraries. If you want to compile bbconf by hand, youll need the Qt libraries, X libraries, X development packages and Qt development packages.

Knamer 0.10

Knamer 0.10

Knamer is a simple little utility for batch renaming files. more>>
Knamer program is a simple little utility for batch renaming files.

At first, I wrote Knamer to meet my own needs, which were mostly renaming photographs and TV episodes. Later it expanded to include more and more features that hopefully others will find useful. Believe it or not, I had Knamer half written before I even discovered Krename. Had I found it earlier, I probably wouldnt have bothered.

Most information you could want is included in the README. I also included a directory of test files for you to play around with if youd rather not mess with your own files at first.

In my experience, Knamer has proved quite stable, usually only encountering problems on files with tricky characters in the name. If things should prove otherwise on your system, please let me know. If a particular filename (old or new) is causing trouble, please email me the exact details and Ill see if I can get it fixed.

Usage:

Knamer usage is slightly different than that of most other renaming applications, so it might be worth your while to read through the Help tab before trying to use the program. It outlines the basic operation of Knamer and also gives an extensive set of examples. Additionally, almost every button or setting has "Whats this?" information that can be accessed using the question mark button on the toolbar or by pressing Shift + F1.

XMMS 1.2.10

XMMS 1.2.10

XMMS is the X MultiMedia System. more>>
XMMS is a multimedia player for unix systems. XMMS stands for X MultiMedia System and can play media files such as MP3, MODs, WAV and others with the use of Input plugins.

XMMS is mainly targeted at music playback, but through thirdparty plugins some rudimentary video capabilities exists, but there are much better systems other than XMMS for video support.

It was modeled after winamp from the Windows operating system. XMMS is not a port of Winamp but was written from scratch by Mikael and Peter Alm.

In the Audio I/O tab you control the heart of XMMS, which would be the Input and Output plugins.

In the Input plugins part you can disable/enable and configure the available plugins. The list box displays the name of the plugin, its file name and (disabled) if you have disabled the plugin.

The Output Plugin is where you tell XMMS how it should play the audio back. Today you can only have one Output Plugin active at a time. So you cant both listen to the music through the OSS Driver and save the music to disk with Disk Writer.

Some Features of "XMMS":
Read info on
tells XMMS when to load the information from the files in your playlist.

Demand
will load the information when the files are visible in the playlist.

Load
will load the information when you add the file to the playlist. Having Load turned on when loading a 6000 song playlist might not be a good idea. If both options are turned off XMMS will only load the information when the song is currently playing.

Convert %20 to space
This will convert "%20" to " " when the filename is displayed in the playlist. (%20 is what browsers use instead of space)

Convert underscore to space
This will display " " instead of "_" in the playlist.

Dim titlebar when inactive
Will tell XMMS to use the dimmed titlebar from the current skin when the window is inactive.

Sort "jump to file" alphabetical
Will sort the Jump to file dialog (available by pressing "j") in alphabetical order instead of the order its in the playlist.

Use realtime priority when available
This works only if XMMS is run as root or is setuid as root. It will allow XMMS to get all the CPU power it needs, and can greatly improve the playback on slower systems. NOTE: The Disk Writer plugin will NOT work with this option enabled, also you need to restart XMMS in order for this to make a change.

Pause between song for [ ] seconds
Will make a defined pause between each song.

Show windowmanager decorations
Enables the windowmanager borders around XMMS.

Mouse Wheel adjust Volume by (%)
If you have a mouse with a wheel, you can change how much of the volume to be changed when you move it up or down.

Allow multiple instances
This will allow you to start more than one XMMS. You have to quit XMMS before this change takes effect.

Always show clutterbar
Will make the OAIDV part of the main window to be displayed all the time.

Save window positions
Will save the main windows position on the screen instead of letting the windowmanager choose location.

Show numbers in playlist
Enables the display of the internal track number in the playlist.

Equalizer doublesize linked
Will display the Equalizer in doublesize if you make XMMS doublesize.

Smooth title scroll
Makes the title scroll go smoother.

Snap window at [ ] pixels
Tells XMMS how close you can position the three windows until they dock / snap together with each other.

Use "" as a directory delimiter
This will come in handy if you are using playlist files from a windows player, so XMMS will treat as /.

Use meta data in playlists
When enabled, all playlists will be saved with the configured Title string for quick loading of information when you load a playlist.

GMime 2.2.10

GMime is a set of utilities for parsing and creating messages using the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (MIME). more>>
GMime is a set of utilities for parsing and creating messages using the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (MIME).

As a developer and user of Electronic Mail clients, I had come to realize that the vast majority of E-Mail client solutions had less-than-satisfactory MIME implementations. More often than not these E-Mail clients created broken MIME messages and/or would incorrectly try to parse a MIME message thus subtracting from the full benefits that MIME was meant to provide. GMime is meant to address this issue by following the MIME specification while also providing programmers with an extremely easy to use application programming interface.
