yamp is an abbreviation of "Yet Another Mixer Program". It is a program, running in an X window, to control your soundcard via the OSS kernel sound driver. This program is specific to Linux.
It queries the soundcard which variables can be influenced, and sets up a notebook control with a page for every variable. Usually you can set the volume of the speakers, bass and treble, volume of the CD player and other input sources. With the sliders on the page, you can set that particular variable for the left and right channel separately.
yamp uses version 2 of the GTK+ toolkit.
Enhancements:

Installation:
1. Copy all file and directory in your contex root of web container (for Tomcat is webapps).
2. Create a new database in mysql, from shell : "mysqladmin create databasename".

4. Update author password from mysql shell: "update author set password = password(mynewpassword) where author_id=1"
5. Edit deployment descriptor file web.xml with your propertyo of db.

mpgfe is a ncurses front-end for mpg123. It has advanced playlist editing features (load/save/add playlists in m3u format, order/shuffle playlist, move/add/delete playlist entries), resizing support.

An interesting feature is the ability to display the lyrics of the song that is playing (provided that you added the name of the lyrics file after the song file - in the playlist; you can do that from the program and save your new playlist).
