DIOTA 0.91
DIOTA is a dynamic instrumentation tool for Intel binaries. more>>
DIOTA (Dynamic Instrumentation, Optimisation and Transformation of Applications) is a novel method for instrumenting binaries.
The technique correctly deals with programs that contain traditionally hard to instrument features such as data in code and code in data.
The technique does not require reverse engineering, program understanding tools or heuristics about the compiler or linker used. The basic idea is that instrumented code is generated on the fly, while the original process is used for data accesses.
DIOTA comes with a number of useful backends to check programs for faulty memory accesses, data races, deadlocks,... and perform basic tracing operations, e.g. tracing all memory accesses, all code being executed, to perform coverage analysis, ...
Enhancements:
- removed READ_DEBUG statements

- Zack Rusins Ruby-based calculator.
- Mine.
- Ariya Hiyadats SpeedCrunch, a pure Qt/C++ solution, which is closest in functionality to abakus. It doesnt use yacc or lex, making it a good choice if abakus cant build for your system for whatever reason.
Enhancements:
- Abakus supports the "," decimal separator correctly (both input and output).
- Show the most significant digits when an answer must be cut off due to space restrictions.
- Other minor stuff.

sfront 0.91
Sfront project compiles MPEG 4 Structured Audio (MP4-SA) bitstreams into efficient C programs that generate audio when executed. more>>
Sfront project compiles MPEG 4 Structured Audio (MP4-SA) bitstreams into efficient C programs that generate audio when executed. MP4-SA is a standard for normative algorithmic sound, that combines an audio signal processing language (SAOL) with score languages (SASL, and the legacy MIDI File Format).
Under Linux and Mac OS X, sfront supports real-time, low-latency audio input/output, local MIDI input from soundcards, and networked MIDI input using RTP and SIP. A SIP server hosted on the Berkeley campus manages sessions. The documentation includes a book about SAOL programming.
Enhancements:
- This release defaults to writing 16-bit WAV and AIFF files, and the command line flags for specifying 16-bit WAV and AIFF files now work correctly.
- In addition, bugs were fixed in the documentation and implementation of the custom control driver API.

Alzabo 0.91
Alzabo is a Perl module with data modelling tool and RDBMS-OO mapper. more>>
Alzabo is a Perl module with data modelling tool and RDBMS-OO mapper.
SYNOPSIS
Cannot be summarized here.
What is Alzabo?
Alzabo is a suite of modules with two core functions. Its first use is as a data modelling tool. Through either a schema creation GUI, a perl program, or reverse engineering, you can create a set objects to represent a schema.
Its second function is as an RDBMS to object mapping system. Once you have created a schema, you can use the Alzabo::Runtime::Table and Alzabo::Runtime::Row classes to access its data. These classes offer a high level interface to common operations such as SQL SELECT, INSERT, DELETE, and UPDATE commands.
Because you can manipulate construct queries through object-oriented Perl, creating complex queries on the fly is much easier than it would be if you had to dynamically construct strings of SQL.
A higher level interface can be created through the use of the Alzabo::MethodMaker module. This module takes a schema object and auto-generates useful methods based on the tables, columns, and relationships it finds in the module. The code is generates can be integrated with your own code quite easily.
To take it a step further, you could then aggregate a set of rows from different tables into a larger container object which could understand the logical relationship between these tables.

Tengis 0.91
Tengis is a small application written in Python/Qt that implements a query system. more>>
Tengis is a small application written in Python/Qt that implements a query system (and eventually management) for bookmarks that is not based on a tree hierarchy.
Tengis is a bookmarks search and view, and eventually bookmarks manager as well. The main premise behind its novel approach is that bookmarks dont have to be organized in a tree, rather are assigned a set of keywords, that is used internally to build a graph.
The main advantages and reasons for this approach are:
* the user doesnt have to find a single location in his bookmarks tree to add a new bookmark. Rather, he simply associates a short set of keywords;
* searches are carried out by navigating between the neighboring keywords in the keyword graph (v.s. navigating up and down menus, but there is no notion of up and down);
* searches for recalling bookmarks or keywords are carried out by typing a regular expression. This is integrated by insert a new "search" keyword node in the graph.
Furthermore, other advantages that are not related to our approach:
* the user can typically add a personal comment on the description related to a bookmark;
* the file format for bookmarks that we use is extremely simple and different revisions will merge nicely if you use CVS to manage your bookmarks.
Integration with browser is done simply using the webbrowser Python module and by cut-n-paste (selecting a bookmark puts it in the clipboard).
I wrote this implementation in a fit of rage after writing down an idea for the design I really wanted to have (design document: Self-Organizing Graph-Based Search Method). This implementation is pretty much the same as what is described in the design document, except for the cool UI, which I probably wont ever have time to implement.

UProxy 0.91
UProxy is a proxy for UDP protocols. more>>
UProxy is a proxy for UDP protocols. UProxy was initially designed to allow users to play Unreal Tournament matches over the Internet on computers sharing a dial up connection.
UProxy could also be used by any client-server application that uses the UDP protocol and doesnt require clients to bind a fixed port. UProxy should run under Windows, Linux, or any OS which supports BSD sockets.
Initially UProxy has been designed to allow playing Unreal Tournament matches over Internet on computers connected by a LAN sharing a dial up connection, but it could be used to play other games (such as Quake) and by every program using a UDP protocol where clients dont have to bind a fixed port (not only games!).
The main reason why I did UProxy when udpproxy already exists, is because I tried to port udpproxy to Windows but it was so difficult that I decided to rewrite it from a scratch. As result, UProxy should compile (and work) under Windows, Linux and, probably, every OS supporting BSD sockets.
UProxy doesnt support all the features of udpproxy yet, even if it should not be difficult to add them. However UProxy is now pretty usable and I will wait before adding other features while Im not sure I really need it.
Usage:
uproxy localport serveraddress serverport
where
localport is the port the proxy will listen to for incoming client requests
serveraddress is the address of the server where the proxy will forward client requests
serverport is the port the server is listening to for incoming client requests
Example:
My computer has the address 172.16.2.1 on my LAN. It is connected to internet by a dial up connection. If I want to allow computers on my LAN to access the an in Internet server having address 123.123.123.123 running Unreal Tournament on port 9999 I have to run the following command on my computer
uproxy 7777 123.123.123.123 9999
then other computers on the LAN have to use the address 172.16.2.1 as server (Unreal Tournament uses UDP port 7777 by default) to reach the Unreal Tournament server 123.123.123.123 on port 9999.
Messages:
While running, UProxy prints bytes in/out statistics every 10 seconds.
When incomes a request from a new client a message is shown and 30 seconds after the last packet sent or received by the client the pseudo-connection is dropped and another message is shown.
Enhancements:
- Besides some cosmetic changes in the code, this release should fix an ugly bug affecting UProxy when used in a Unix-like operating system.

KatchTV is an "Internet TV" application for KDE. KatchTV makes it easy to subscribe to "TV" channels from all over the internet in the form of podcasts, so that you can browse channels, download shows, and watch them, all from one convenient interface.
KatchTV is very similar to Democracy TV, but focuses on KDE integration, using KHTMLPart and embedded players such as kaffeine. Its much faster, and lighter on resources if you run a KDE desktop without GTK apps.
Installation is easy, as long as your distro has PyKDE, PyQt, and Kaffeine. Just untar to some directory like /usr/local, and run the KatchTV program. You can also make a symlink to that executable from a directory like /usr/local/bin, and KatchTV will work out where to find its files.
Comments welcome; let me know if youve any problems using it.
