rimo 0.2 alpha
rimo is a tool that runs from cron and executes commands when an email from a known address is sent to an IMAP4 account. more>>
rimo lets you execute commands on Unix based systems via an email from a known address sent to an IMAP4 account.
rimo is designed to be run as a cron process; rimo scans the IMAP4 account for new rimo email messages and executes the command specified in them.
The scanned email messages have their flags set to "seen" so that subsequent scans will not re-execute the commands.
The intent of rimo is to allow for job dispatch and control via non-traditional clients such as a cell phone.

TRIPP 0.2 Alpha
TRIPP is a utility to rewrite incoming and outgoing IP packets. more>>
TRIPP is a utility to rewrite incoming and outgoing IP packets. Since it can rewrite both headers and payload, it can be used to configure the tcp/ip stack behavior in order to perform various tasks mainly intended for network tests, simulations and development.
It is configured via a small rule-based language, which allows the user to intercept packets, set arbitrary header values, increment or decrement numeric header fields, set an arbitrary payload, rewrite parts of the payload, or fragment, multiply, or drop packets.
TRIPP project is totally user-level and doesnt require any kernel module.

GNS-3 0.2 Alpha
GNS-3 is a graphical network simulator that allows you to design complex network topologies. more>>
GNS-3 is a graphical network simulator that allows you to design complex network topologies. You may run simulations, or configure each device, from a simple workstation to a powerful Cisco router.
To allows complete simulations, GNS-3 is based on two existing projects:
- NS-3 , a discrete-event network simulator for Internet systems, targeted primarily for research and educational use.
- Dynamips, an IOS emulator which allows users to run IOS binary images from Cisco Systems.
This application is an open source product that may be used on multiple platforms, including Windows, Linux, and MacOS X.
Main features:
- Design of high quality network topologies.
- Emulation of Cisco routers.
- Load-balancing on multiple hosts/hypervisors when in emulation mode.
- Topology import and export.
- Image exports (PNG, JPEG, BMP, XPM).
Enhancements:
- Hypervisor load-balancing is now used to address the per process limit problem (http://dynagen.org/tutorial.htm#_Toc165530762).
- Configuration of multiple nodes may be done. The user can change hostnames.

This little application converts audio files into a wav-format suitable for Siemens x65 mobile phones.
The current Siemens mobile phones dont support mp3 yet, thats why ive developed this tool to ease the process of converting an audio file into a wav-file that your phone can play.
The program calls sox and you need it compiled with mp3 support if you want to convert *.mp3 into *.wav.

AFoC 0.2 Alpha 1
AFoC is a website framework written in python and geared towards content management. more>>
AFoC is a website framework written in Python and geared towards content management. It is free software and extremely modular, meaning that it is designed to make almost every component optional and replaceable.
The standard AFoC download consists of only a small, minimal website system that can be extended with a variety of easily installable modules, to create sites like this one, for example.
Enhancements:
- AFoC is now completely and utterly modular, in the sense that the download only contains a common core onto which modules can easily be installed.

i.File 0.2 Alpha
i.File is a file manager for Linux written for the Windows refugees that are arriving in Linux. more>>
i.File is a file manager for Linux written for the Windows refugees that are arriving in Linux only to find that the state of the user interface is rather poor. I personally somewhat fall into this catagory, although more as a power user than the average Joe.
Both the leading file managers for KDE and Gnome are well... not to put too fine a point on it: crap. There are just not ready for everyday use by normal people, because of the untold number of bugs in the usability and function that are STILL there 3 years after they first infested Linux desktops.
Not that this project will start off any better, but my hope is that itll end far more successfully than the aforementioned software. i.File project is targetted at other developers in an attempt to get some help with bringing it up to speed. Enough of the basic code layout and implementation is done so that the user can see how things should work. And now its just time to fill in the blanks and bust those bugs.
Main features:
- Be fast. i.File doesnt load icons for every file by its mime type. Because that takes too long. All the algorithms are designed to make it fast. The use of hashtables is pervasive. At no point should "eye candy" ever take precedence over speed. Startup/shutdown time should be sub-second. Drag and drop should have latencies around 100ms at most.
- All views of the same inode (file/dir/etc) point back to the same object, thus when the object changes, all views of that automatically update.
- Network accesses and all other tasks that can take time should be threaded. There is no excuse for locking up the GUI thread while the application goes off to get some data.
- Be minimal. i.File is not a thumb nail viewer, or any other type of viewer. Applications do the viewing, not the file manager. Viewing tasks bloat up the file manager.
- Every file is typed with a mime type. This is marginally better than using a files extension to associate it with an application.
- The Win2k implementation of Windows Explorer is the basis for some of the user interface because it works, people are used to it, and its "the standard". And no the experiments with file manager UI in Linux didnt work. They suck badly, thats why there is i.File in the first place.

SimpleJTA 2.0.2 Alpha
SimpleJTA implements a standalone JTA compliant Transaction Manager. more>>
SimpleJTA implements a standalone JTA compliant Transaction Manager. SimpleJTA project is primarily designed to be used when a J2EE server is not available, for example, in Servlet applications, or standalone Java programs.
SimpleJTA is being developed and tested with Oracle 9i and Apache Derby database management systems. It is fairly easy to add support for other database systems that support the XA interface.
Main features:
- SimpleJTA does not require a J2EE or Servlet container. It provides an implementation of UserTransaction interface so that an application using SimpleJTA can easily switch to another JTA implementation.
- SimpleJTA implements a transaction log to enable recovery after system crashes.
- Distributed transaction propagation between multiple application servers is not supported. There is no support for JTS.
- SimpleJTA implements the UserTransaction, Transaction and TransactionManager interfaces. The Transaction and TransactionManager interfaces have not been tested extensively.
- SimpleJTA provides its own JDBC datasources for Oracle and Derby. It is easy to add support for other database systems.
- SimpleJTA JDBC datasources and UserTransaction implementation can be registered to JNDI, but this has not been tested yet.
- There is experimental support for two JMS providers - Websphere MQ and Oracle AQ.
- SimpleJTA can be used within a Spring Framework managed application.
Enhancements:
- Added spring-dao to the list of dependencies in pom.xml.
- Added TransactionManager interface to SimpleUserTransaction.
- Added SpringTransactionManager bean definition to testConfig.xml.
- Fixed problems reported by FindBugs (4 defects remaining).
- Added very basic test case for ActiveMQ.
- Fixed incorrect classname in ActiveMQJMSConnectionFactoryAdaptor.

ParakeetBrainz 0.2 Alpha
Parakeet Brainz analyzes the acoustic properties of music and looks it up in a large, public database. more>>
If youve had your music collection for a while, youve probably noticed that some (or most) of your tracks are mislabeled, skip, are duplicates, or have low bitrates. Depending on how long youve had your collection, this could be thousands of redundant, poping, or mislabled tracks. Parakeet Brainz is a tool to correct this, with a little user intervention as possible.
Parakeet Brainz analyzes the acoustic properties of music and looks it up in a large, public database. Using this information Parakeet Brainz sorts and organizes your collection.
Parakeet Brainz also intelegently detects duplicate tracks waisting disk space and removes them, so your collection can grow even larger.
Parakeet Brainz also supports plugins. these plugins can be used to decode and encode music for analysis and convertion.
ParakeetBrainz is completely free and open source under the GNU Public Licence.
