Ultima Linux is a Slackware-based Linux distribution designed to be easy-to-install and use. Ultima Linux includes an automatic update tool called "ulupdate", which greatly simplifies keeping the system up-to-date with the latest software.
Ultima Linux 4-SP1 has just been made available to the world. This is a minor release, containing primarily security updates and that kind of fun stuff. Also included are Subversion and MPlayer, which are new in this release.
Unlike previous releases, this one is done a little bit differently. If you already have Ultima 4 installed, you dont need to upgrade - the same updates are now on ulupdate, and in the case of the new packages on the packages page of our Web site.
However, because there are so many updated packages - around half the system! - we have decided to update the ISO download to include everything pre-configured for your convenience.
Ultima Linux 8.2 is not available for free download, but interested users can purchase the live CD or the 3-CD installation set from the projects Get Ultima page (from US$3.99).
Enhancements:

The Big Faceless Java PDF Library is a Java class library for creating PDF documents. The Extended Edition of Big Faceless Java PDF Library offers the ability to create and edit AcroForms, PDFs answer to the HTML form.
Like HTML forms, PDF forms can contain text boxes, radio buttons, and can call JavaScript functions. The Extended Edition also includes a PDF reader for importing and editing, along with FDF support and verification for Digital Signatures.
Both variations offer full Unicode support, encryption, embedded TrueType and Type1 fonts, barcodes, hyperlinks, spot and calibrated color. Advanced text layout engine enables complex HTML styles. It is small, fast, easy to use, and 100% pure Java.
BFO's PDF Library provides unparalleled implementation flexibility and reliability for the developer. It's scalable, thread-safe and extremely fast, having been honed over the years, and runs on any Java platform from the humble PC up to Mainframes.
The API has been designed so you don't need to know the PDF specification in order to create PDF's. We hide as much of the gory details as possible but still give you almost complete control over the PDF itself. Where possible standard Java classes are reused - for example the pages are stored in a java.util.List, which can be manipulated any way you like (so moving pages from one document to another is a breeze). This means an API which is smaller and easier to remember.
The Viewer Extension allows PDF's to be parsed and converted to bitmaps for display, to be saved as a bitmap image (e.g TIFF) or for printing. Although Java 1.5 theoretically supports printing PDFs out of the box, results are often poor and support for features like annotations, encrypted documents etc. is incomplete. Heres what it does now: Allows searching of database. Allows basic interaction with the database: users can ask new questions that are not in the database. Questions and answers are sorted by categories. Heres what I plan to add: Script answers support email automatically. Based on keywords in the email, users are replied-to with a selection of possible answers. New questions people ask online will be added to the database as pending. You will be able to answer the question online with a web form. You can either approve the question for the FAQs or delete it.
