Mathomatic 14.5.2 Ranking & Summary
Mathomatic 14.5.2 description
Mathomatic 14.5.2 is a portable and compact Computer Algebra System (CAS) written entirely in the C programming language. It is free and open source software, published under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL version 2.1). This is a text mode application that does symbolic math and quick calculations in a standard, generalized, and consistent way.
Mathomatic easily compiles and runs under any operating system with a C compiler. There are no dependencies other than the standard C libraries. The software has been under continual development since 1986 by the primary author George Gesslein II.
Mathomatic is a computer algebra system that can automatically solve, simplify, manipulate, and calculate mathematical formulas with many variables. Expressions and equations are entered in standard algebraic (infix) notation by typing or reading them in. Operations are performed on them by entering simple English commands. Symbolic equations are solved by typing the name of the variable to solve for at the main prompt. The result can then be completely simplified by typing "simplify", which runs the simplify command on the current equation.
Major Features:
- Combine and solve equations containing many variables;
- Completely simplify and compare mathematical expressions and equations;
- Do simple calculus transformations and series;
- Perform simultaneous real number, imaginary number, and polynomial arithmetic;
- Generate optimized C, Java, or Python language code from simplified equations;
- Carry out quick formula calculations, etc.
