The software is a relational database management system. Its storage can be up to terabyte database size. It contains some of the post-relational features as following:

GigaBASE is able to handle the database, whose size considerably exceeds the physical memory of the compute, as the program inherits almost of the features of FastDB. However, it uses page pool of direct mapping of file on virtual memory.

GigaBASE  has a convenient and flexible C++ interface which makes its application more developed and easy. And its automatic scheme evaluation simplifies maintenance and modification of the system. igaBASE merges best features of relational (simple data structure and non-procedural query language) and object-oriented (direct object references, user defined types and methods) databases.Primarily, the program is oriented on its application requiring fast data by using means of indices and direct object references, like Web Server databases applications.
