Flux is a Java workflow engine, job scheduler, and business process management (BPM) engine. It has Java, J2EE, XML, and Web Services APIs. It has an Ajax-enabled Web interface, a full GUI, and a command line interface. Written in pure Java, it can be embedded in J2SE and J2EE applications.

User Interfaces: Flux and Flux BPM contain user-friendly web, command line, and desktop interfaces for working with Flux / Flux BPM through point-and-click interfaces.
PIs: Flux and Flux BPM contain an exhaustive set of Java, J2EE, XML, and Web Services APIs. These embeddable APIs are what enable Java software development teams to create highly customized software and web applications.
Management: IT operations staff use Flux and Flux BPM to manage, monitor, and control Java applications built by Java developers using Fluxs user interfaces and APIs. No programming on the part of the IT operations staff is required.
"Job Scheduling with Workflow" by IT Staff: IT staff use Flux BPM to make crucial decisions based on the output of jobs and systems processes where human intervention and judgment is needed. No programming is required.

Enhancements:
- You can now edit variables directly through the Operations Console.
- Select the workflow in the Web-based Flux Operations Console and click edit.
- Operations staff can change job data stored in variables or edit action properties.
- Any changes made to the running workflow can be saved back to the Flux engine.
- Permissions can be added to users and roles to restrict which variables users can edit in workflows.
- The Swing-based Designer is now Java 1.6 compatible.
