cwm 3 description
cwm is a window manager for X11 initially inspired by evilwm. It developed out of modifications to evilwm, but eventually the code base of evilwm did not accomodate well for the new features added. So cwm was written from scratch.
cwm has several novel features, including the ability to search for windows. it features a very simple and attractive aesthetic.
Main features:
- Improved alt-tabbing, including the ability to reverse cycle.
- Display of a context menu when alt-tabbing, showing the previous, current and next window in the cycle order.
- Much improved ranking in search.
- In search-menus, the ability to list every item.
Enhancements:
- More search ranking improvements were made.
- A keyboard binding "i18n" was added.
- Window labels are shown in the minimized window menu. Automatic window grouping was implemented.
- MWM hints support, some bugfixes, Xft support, and the -f flag were added.
